Time will tell if this was a stupid thing to do or not but I placed three doubles today each with Greyed A (2:15)

Selections were:
My Dance (1:15) got it at fives
De Rasher Counter (2:45)
Fergal Mail Duin (3:15) also got it at fives

First one is in, if Greyed A obliges, I could be in for an interesting afternoon. If the Newland gelding lets me down, I'm going to feel awfully foolish.

That’s bad news. Starting to become a horse that you’ll always wonder what might have been.

Couple of other news snippets: (i) Tally-ho. Unioniste is going hunter chasing tomorrow and , (ii) Lieutenant Henderson is going to be getting his ‘magic hands’ on old boy Humphrey Bogart!

Unlucky with the Tizzard horse - bang there when stumbling on landing (I thought he had broken down at first so was relieved to see him galloping off after them). Bad luck, that's jumps racing.

Cobden looked as though he was trying to make up ground in the last two jumps - the one before it fell was pretty aggressive and the horse reared on landing - I'm not criticising the jockey - it was probably the right decision for the stage of the race to try going at the hurdles while the others in the leading pack took an extra step but it was an ugly landing.

A good Monday for me anyway - two out of three doubles can't be bad.
