Good Luck <ok>

R.S. (Rather Strange) system day 2. Yesterday 6 selections, 3 seconds and a fourth, 6 points loss.

Prices are Oddschecker bog. Where at least 3 bookies give the price, I say 'several.' Where more than 3, 'many.' Most bookies: 'generally.' Less than 3, I'll give named bookies.

Ayr 3.45 Boy Douglas 4/1 generally.

Brighton 4.0 Semser /1 several.

Listowel 4.20 French Dynamite 9/2 several.

" 4.50 Vaucelet 5/1 several

Wetherby 8.0 Granny B 11/2 several.

Windsor has always been a very tricky course to find a winner, what with its strange figure-of-eight configeration. Have been there a few times many moons ago, and it was no different then! So, no more blah-blah, the selection runs in the (18:45) race, a Class-3 sprint over 6f. on good-to-firm ground.. The Invincible Army gelding, Trefor, who is the bottom weight and, hopefully, will do better than yesterday's dismal effort from this writer! He is a C&D winner, so the track will not bother him, and the current going should be ideal. The talented Saffie Osborne on board for the Charlie Hills stable.

7/2 best price in most places at time of writing, on the ATR site.

Fleur De Chine might be worth following until the handicapper catches up with her. Winner at Gowran Park today. Beat Galileo Dame comfortably, giving her 4lbs. That's 2 races on the trot as a 3yo. Ist time out this seasons was 6¾l 7th of 18 having pulled up sore. Just 2 runs as a 2yo and on debut was 5th of 16 to Kitty Rose having ran green when making headway 2 out. Kitty Rose followed up with a comfortable listed win before 2 seconds in G3 races. That win today, in a race worth €108,000 to the winner was a marked step up after her maiden win and has clearly developed into a fairly decent 3yo. Hopefuully not tried too highly next time out

Granny B was w/d in my last race after playing up badly and refusing to go into the stalls.

So just 4 selections ran. Great start when Boy Douglas stormed through near the finish to win by 3/4 length in a mile race run at a terrific lick throughout by the first 3. After 4 to 5 furlongs I was worried that Connor Beasley might get too far behind the pace, but he was wise to what was happening, didn't rely on the front 3 slowing down, and moved up to keep well in touch.

No joy with the other 3.

2.5 points profit on the day, but after 2 days I'm still in the red, albeit a more respectable -3.5.

Low S/R though, only 1 win from 10.

Hawkward: I honestly don't understand systems, but I would say that you're doing pretty well. Keep it up, think you have a good chance to be in profit soon enough. I was following Nassau's system, so I know it takes a heck of a lot of hard work. For myself, I just keep to one, or maybe two, selections done in the age-old way of going through the form as well as I can. Had a few winners, but many real disappointments too!
