I expect Graham Gibbons is praying it's not as bad as it looks. Poor piece of riding from him in my opinion. Tylicki still on the floor and Crowley only just placed on a stretcher an hour after the incident occurred.

That does not sound good at all.

Full info on the incident from Racing Post:

Crowley and Tylicki taken to hospital
BY DAVID BAXTER 4:05PM 31 OCT 2016

CHAMPION jockey Jim Crowley and Freddy Tylicki were taken to hospital with suspected spinal injuries following a four-horse pile-up at Kempton on Monday.

Following a delay of over an hour, stewards consulted with the jockeys at the track and the decision was taken to abandon the rest of the meeting.

Steve Drowne and Ted Durcan also came down in the incident, which happened on the turn into the home straight in the 3.20.

Crowley and Tylicki were both taken to the major trauma unit at St George's Hospital in Tooting, with Tylicki transported by air ambulance, whereas Crowley was taken by road ambulance.

Clerk of the course Barney Clifford said: "Both jockeys have gone to St George's in Tooting for further investigation. Freddy Tylicki was airlifted and Jim Crowley has gone by road ambulance.

"Both are on spinal boards and both gave their consent to me and the doctor to update their next of kin family members. I can't say anymore than that at this stage."

Drowne and Durcan were able to walk back to the weighing room. The four horses involved were reported to be on their feet following the incident.

Clifford said: "I touched base with Steve Drowne and he was fine. Ted Durcan was quite shaken. I just hope and pray that both Freddy and Jim are okay."

Racing abandoned

On the decision to call off the rest of the meeting, Clifford added: "Having discussed it with the jockeys and the stewards the unanimous decision, as a mark of respect to the two lads that had been injured, was that we abandon racing."

Tylicki was aboard Nellie Deen in second, and exiting the bend into the home straight, when it appeared his mount clipped heels with leader and eventual winner Madame Butterfly.

Nellie Deen in turn brought down Electrify [Crowley], Skara Mae [Drowne] and Sovrano Dolce [Durcan].

Very bad, fingers crossed its not as serious as feared for both and they make speedy recoveries.

Caledonia was just a fancy, ran well, 4th is annoying though regardless of it being by a couple of lengths, missed about 4 at the start. Couldn't really understand why it was 40/1, stupid odds, albeit they didn't pay but 40/1 on realistically a 8/1 shot was a no brainer

Update:

Tylicki conscious and stable in intensive care
BY DAVID BAXTER 10:05PM 31 OCT 2016

FREDDY TYLICKI was reported to be conscious and in a stable condition in intensive care on Monday night while Jim Crowley was discharged from hospital after the pair were involved in a four-horse pile-up at Kempton.

Both jockeys were taken to the major trauma unit at St George's Hospital in Tooting, but Crowley was able to leave later on Monday.

A statement from the Injured Jockeys Fund read: "Following the incident at Kempton Park racecourse this afternoon, jockey Jim Crowley has been discharged from St George's Hospital, Tooting, to return home with his family.

"Freddy Tylicki, also involved in the incident, is in intensive care in a stable condition. He is conscious and there will be a further update tomorrow once more is known."

The tight-knit nature of the weighing room was evident on Twitter, as several of Crowley and Tylicki's colleagues sent messages of support to the pair.

Racing was delayed for over an hour following the incident, which occured in the 3.20, before the decision was taken to abandon the rest of the meeting.

Steve Drowne and Ted Durcan were the other jockeys who were brought down in the pile-up. The pair were shaken but able to walk back to the weighing room.
