Am at plumpton tomorrow - taking a few non horse racing friends with me - hopefully can get them interested in going again, some winners I’m sure will help, Any selections are warmly received;
That's a year since he put him up then funny how reading a selection on the forum can throw you right back to a point in time of what you were doing this time last year.
A few pounds too high and likely to need the run. However, I do like COUNTERACT at a nice price in the bumper.
I like Tzar de L'elfe in the 2.30 at Plumpton. Was going well until a blunder 4 out at this track last run. Has been running consistantly well without winning over fences. Stable's chasers placed 3 times from 5 runs this season. Jockey James Davies in good form recently. If you are looking for a nice each way chance I think Tzar der L'elfe is no forlorn hope.
Musselburgh 1.15 Lady London Form over course and distance reads: 1242 Won well at Perth over 3 m two runs ago and next time 4th over 2m 4 f at Perth not a bad performance because Lady London's best form is over 3 m. Another encouraging stat in my eyes is the fact that the yard had 7 horses in the first 3 from 18 runners over fences this season until now. Stable had 3 runners placed from 6 starts last 14 days so recent form of the yard is ok I would think. Could outrun her odds at 16/1 at the moment
What did we make of the gee-gees over the past 3 days then, team??? Highlight for me has to be Champ. But honourable mentions as well to Floressa, Fakir D'Oudaries and Epatante.
Plumpton 1:30 Jully Les Buxy Won 2 times after a break so clearly goes well fresh. 2nd at this track one year ago.Blinkers and tongue strap on. A bit of money going down on this one today suggests a good run is expected.
I though Fakir D'O (can't be bothered to spell it) was very good indeed, electric at his fences and I would seriously be stepping him back down in trip and aiming him at the old "Meghan Markle". Although Envoi Allen was good in the Royal Bond I still think Abacadabras could make a top notch 2 mile hurdler. Might well have troubled the winner more yesterday had he been ridden a tad more prominently and not made a horlicks of the 3rd last. But, as the old saying goes, you've got to jump them. I thought Son Of Camas did it well on Friday and he could emerge as a Supreme contender - his time was good on the prevailing ground and the first 4 look decent. Early days of course, but clearly Son Of Camas is highly regarded at Seven Barrows.
Plumpton 3:00 Sixties Secret Small stable does well at Plumpton with 48 runners in the money from 95 runs over the last 5 seasons. Trainers last 2 runners were placed at big odds. Sixties Secret form at Plumpton reads 164 which doesn't look bad in my eyes. A win in a low grade handicap hurdle like this today should be within this horses capabilities. Nice each-way chance.
Plumpton 3:30 Bring The Bacon Interesting debutant despite the fact that stable not noted for bumper winners. Dam unraced half-sister to bumper winner/useful hurdler (2½m-21f winner) Ryde Back. Stable 6 times in the money from 11 runs at Plumpton over the last 5 seasons. Its Adrian Heskin's only booked ride today. Could reach a place at least at big odds.
Wolverhampton 3.45 Brother Bentley Last 2 runs at this track were better than finishing position suggests. On a good mark and the Harris/Probert combo does well in these kind of races. Nice each-way chance at 10/1.
Wolverhampton 4.15 Fares Poet Last 3 runs on the all weather were not without promise. Handicap mark gives this one a really good chance to finally get his head in front with stable in very good form recently. Daniel Muscutt a good jockey booking in my opinion. Should get a place at least at 7/1.
disappointing to hear that Cornelius Lysaght is leaving the BBC. I think this is the beginning of the end for racing on the radio sadly. they used to cover Cheltenham in particular superbly but after they got rid of John Inverdale earlier this year I did wonder then whether they would cut that coverage in future. it now looks as though they will.
I see that my old fave, Lisp, has just won by 19 lengths. Anyone see the race??? Was it as easy as it appears from the results page??? And perhaps most importantly. How much of a hike is he likely to get from the assessor?!?
easy as you like. Handicapper can’t do anything. Race fell apart with the second favourite returning to his ungenuine ways.
