Nice discussion RE the Epsom big races lads. I think Camelot is the horse but the nailed on value is without question IMPERIAL MONARCH e/w @ 14s I wouldnt be put off the forecast either. The Oaks is a funny race. I simply cannot have Maybe at 2/1. She might be super over the trip, but its a hell of a chance you'd be taking. KISSED has been one of the most visually impressive horses from the Ballydoyle female side of the team and looked every inch an Oaks filly when I saw her on debut last year. Will not desert her Was is a potential fly in the ointment if putting reappearance behind her and I'll be nibbling at double figure prices if she lines up. Hard not to be impressed by The Fugue but in reality Twirl was not especially impressive this season and you feel The Fugue is a skinny price now tacking better AOB horses. Very good race is The Oaks and there is some value to be had I feel. Coronation Cup might be a small field. Beaten Up would have a very good chance if bouncing back from his effort overseas, and say what you like about St Nicholas Abbey, he has been very consistent since his return as a 4 Y O last year and with a good ride he will go very close to a repeat.
I think William Haggas was genuinely surprised that he didn't go much closer in Dubai which must indicate the regard in which he is held. I very nearly had a little of the 7/1 offered by Paddy Power but talked myself out of it as I didn't really want to get involved ante-post. St Nicholas Abbey will be a tough nut to crack but I'm not sure the track is ideal for him and Beaten Up could still have a good deal more to offer.
