You called a coin toss ffs, a coin toss involving one of the biggest bookie horses since The Fugue and a horse who anyone in the game longer than 5 minutes knew was a machine, difference is I wouldnt insult people on a racing forum by tipping Thistlecrack in the King George and then after the race act as if it was some sort of hero call.

If Thistlecrack wasnt a novice he would have been 2/5 against Cue Card.

In the King George he nailed Vautour, he turns over Conti who was 5/4 fav in the Betfair, in his last 4 runs hes been beaten at 4/6, 8/11 and 5/4. He showed his colours getting turned over as one of the bankers in the Supreme years ago and has been beaten fav in two Haldon Gold Cups which says it all for me.

Hes been doing the bookies turns for years, nailing hotpots and running like a dog when fav.

For those who judge horses without the financial implications of losing money though, he's an excellent race horse. He's only won connections shy of £1.5 million.

He also shows a €58.81 profit for level stakes <yikes> some bookies horse that <laugh>

the fact he has a level stakes profit like that only confirms that he is a bookie horse, sure most of that was winning the bumper as a big outsider

You can't single out a losing run at 5/6 or whatever and ignore a 40/1 win though to suit yourself. The shrewdies have been on since day 1..."they knew"

I can confirm that, having backed him throughout his career (apart from the silly 1/6 races this season). Been a right money-spinner for me.

I would say way more people have been stung by Cue Card than the small amount who followed him blind

He pishes the bumper at 40/1 and then well beat at 7/4 fav in the Supreme a year later, beat in the Haldon Gold Cup then wins the Betfair as 9/1 6th choice of 8

A top horse with a massive LSP obviously a result of being with a small trainer which is usually a rare occurrence, Colin Tizzard is a bit of an aberration just now so the two horses being with him means they won at huge odds early on. Now that he is the greatest trainer in Europe you wouldnt get prices like that on his.

Is Colin Tizzard starting on his journey towards being the GOAT ???

    Some would say so...oooh aaaargggghhh!

On a side note, I wonder what kind of mark they are allowing for Thistlecrack? He won with Tom Scu doing handstands on his back and easing down for a furlong Monday from a horse rated 176!

Well I didn't just call the result, I called the manner of the victory too. I knew the race would not be close like the betting suggested.

Either way I never even mentioned after the race about calling things correct, until I was compared to someone who's become all wise after the result.

Anyways atleast we both agree on Cue Cards ability, and where he stands.

He's a pretty good G1 performer, who will win some of the weaker G1s from time to time. But he's not the superstar horse he is billed as. Billing this years KG as a massive clash of the Titans. Well you need 2 superstar horses for that? And it was plainly obvious we only had 1 even before the clash.

After yesterday's Welsh National, I wouldn't even say Cue Card is in the top 2 horses in his own yard anymore.

At the end of the day you tipped a 6/4 shot who has been considered the up and coming superstar of jump racing for a while now, he was favourite for the Gold Cup before a ball was kicked this season I think. You were confident and you were right, well done.

I wasnt even being wise after the event, my post was about Thistlecrack 5/4 Gold Cup backers wanting sanctioning by a Zulu council and the King George being a bad race with some insulting Cue Card and the standard of the Gold Cup over the last few years which plenty will tell you, ive been doing for a long time before this King George.

I didnt come on saying what a certainty Thistlecrack was, I fancied him and I backed him but I would never tip a horse like that at a price like that on a racing forum.

Only time ill put up a high profile horse at a short price is when its a FULL BANK LAY, and I dont even post lays on this forum.
