2.25 Never Up - very promising hurdles debut when running the prolific Gingili all the way to the line and can go one better here
3.00 Lexington Bay - won by half the Southwell straight last Sunday, has changed ownership and yards and Kirby sends him back over hurdles for the first time since Feb 2013
4.10 Presenting Junior - the jockey's 3lbs claim means he is just 4lbs higher than last time out when he won a listed handicap chase at Ayr from some very decent yardsticks.
4.40 Hinton Indiana (nicked from Chan for the reason he mentions)

Haha Mayor Quimby, first time I've heard that one actually..ya I think he's done as much as he could apart from those issues with Suarez. Not sure if there was pressure from above to get rid of him after taking a chunk out of Chiellini but replacing him with Rickie Lambert and Super Mario was a definite step back.

I don't think Klopp would turn them into league winners, not with City and Chelsea's spending prowess. He will however build a solid team with good team spirit and try to build it using as much local resources as possible. Although with the next Sterling's of the world coming through demanding 100k contracts before they've achieved anything, good luck to him with that.

I don't either, STH. I have no idea how much Bundesliga football forum members watch, but, you know, quite honestly he is a bit of a nut case at times. Very good trainer, totally devoted to Dortmund and it surprises me he is leaving them (I think he will return one day). Can just imagine him jumping up and down at Liverpool, or elsewhere. He won't change, and I just hope his obviously sturdy heart can stand it before he earns his retirement. I have always thought that Jupp Heynckes got out just in time; I was so happy for him that it was on a triumphant note too. Old Jupp can still teach Pep a thing or two; the Bayern club, especially the players who knew him, miss the old boy very much, I can tell you.

It does not really matter whether they keep Brendan Rodgers at Anfield because they simply are not good enough to win the Premier League. Gerard has been in decline for a couple of seasons and Henderson is not a replacement.

The smart move would be for Arsenal to push Wenger upstairs and make him Director of Football (or some other meaningless title) and get Jürgen Klopp in to turn them into a title contender. For a long time now the Gooners have just been a ‘finish in the top four’ Champions’ League also ran.

Windsor 2:20 - Just Us Two 100/30. He had a very progressive season last year, looked better with every run. There's also been quite a few winners came out of the maiden race he won at Nottingham last year. The bit of form I like though is his 2nd to the useful Waady, he was only beaten 1 length by Waady who has since went on to win a few decent races and was 4th behind Adaay at Newbury on Lockinge day. If he keeps showing the same progress as last year then he should be taking this race.

Quite sweet on the chances of 3.50 Leicester Rio Ronaldo 9/2. A half brother to a number of very decent horses including Group 1 winner G Force, US Group 3 winner Louvain, Listed winner Lajool and Group 3 placed Desert Poppy, Rio Ronaldo ran out a very impressive winner on his latest start when just pushed out hands and heels to score by 1.25L and I think a 6lb rise for that victory is very lenient. Although this race has a much deeper look to it, I think Mike Murphy's 3 year old is still well ahead of the handicapper off a mark of 83 and I think it's going to take an extremely well handicapped horse to beat him.

If you watch that replay of the Leicester 3.50 you can see why Ryan Moore is the jockey everyone wants to put up. Two horses closed his gap yet he pushes through, many especially Jamie would have snatched up and lost the race.

Thought the run of Rio Ronaldo is hard to decipher. Squeezed up at the start and a bit keen. Travelled through the race powerfully and probably the last off the bridle but he found very little when asked. Puzzled by it but there's no doubt in my mind he's better than his current mark.

Keen early but travelled with promise.I reckon they have a big improver on their hands. That'll end up a Group sprinter when the penny drops.

Couldn't agree more. They showed there on ATR that he actually stumbled badly at the start having met interference. Travelled like the best horse in the race but I think being keen, the stumble and making up a good bit of ground meant there was nothing left in the tank when asked.

Definitely- and remember in sprinting they don't have the time or the energy to recover like they do in middle distance racing. Sprinters can disappoint but it doesn't always mean they aren't progressive.

Any word on what targets this one might have its eye on? I suspect with that sort of ability, a good pace to aim at would be nice so a big handicap pot at some point with a view to then stepping up into higher level listed/Group3?

Evening all.Very sad to hear of the passing of RTE broadcaster Bill O Herlihy.Bill was a brilliant anchor man and was a joy to listen to over years.
Been giving Shadagann in the first at Ballinrobe but its abit to short for me so watching brief only.
One I have backed is Queen Alphabet in 7.30 at 3s.Contested a much tougher race at Aintree and finished 5th but this mares race looks alot easier and she can take this.In the 7.00 I think Manibus has sound ew claims at 9s

Disappointing fare everywhere for a Bank Holiday Monday but c'est la vie. I've been scrawling the Ballinrobe card and I think I've found a very decent chance in the first.

Two starts ago this lad ran 2nd in a 26 runner charity race at the Punchestown Festival from which the horse who won (by a 1/2l) won his next start by 17l. Last time out Mr Boss Man made his first start over hurdles over 3miles which seemed to stretch him plenty enough but he ran OK finishing 3rd beat 6l by an improving Jessie Harrington animal Duckweed. Being an ex flat horse I'd be confident a drop back tomorrow night to just over 2m should suit much better and that the last start was simply to get some hurdling practice in. The favourite of Elliot's looks to be one to avoided as this is now his 8th attempt to break his maiden tag! For an average looking maiden hurdle on a Monday night, I'm as confident as I can be that Mr Boss Man can decisively take this enroute to bigger and better things.
