Cheers fellas, sincerely hope you didn't lose too much on our boy today. It's racing I know but very frustrating when the horse does not get given his best opportunity. The lad was told to get him out and make sure he was handy, 3rd or 4th, and under no circumstances should he leave it too late to deliver him as he doesn't get into top gear as quickly as you think.
He settled him 8th having done a kamikaze manouvre to get him in behind, at least three times he gave him a hefty pull as he was keen to get to the front. At one point he was pretty much stood up taking a tug. With two to run he was just about last with a wall of horses in front of him and absolutely no chance.
The stewards obviously didn't like what they saw as they asked him to explain the ride, he said he ran too free.
It is so frustrating to get the horse in great condition only for the jockey to really foul things up, it was a bitterly disappointing day especially as the horse came back with a cut and swollen leg.
He is having a holiday now and hopefully will come back in one piece and bigger and stronger next year.
(Michael said to back his horse at Lingfield tomorrow)

Been a hell of a ride for u and the Don Stick, fingers crossed he rests well over winter and gives you more great days next season

Reactions: stick
I think he has 2 tomorrow stick. Sorry to hear about the injury to Squire. Sounds like it will be OK with a rest. Hope so.

PS. Give the jockey a kick up the arse from me
