1.30 Goldslinger I remember this one was recommended here last time when fancied by connections and money was going down. Finished 4th that day after trying to make all. Down in trip tomorrow.
In the 2:30, Virnon might not jump out as an obvious candidate. He's inconsistent, unreliable and unseated his rider last time out coming back from a break, However on the positive side of things, he's won on heavy before and 6 of his 8 victories have come at around this time of year. Between November and January. The race isn't exactly a strong looking one and at double figure odds (currently around 12/1) in this small field he could be worth an ew punt.
7:45 Sooqaan @7s this horse caught my eye with a massive run last time out in a much better race, yet the handicapper has put him down a pound! He was weak in the market that day and yet ran a stormer. Let’s hope he’s strong in the market for tomorrow!
Interesting race the last at plumpton - abit of money for the Moore horse however Jamie is on board Milton Harris horse who should relish conditions but hasn’t won since 2015 but is down to a very good mark and does look to end that losing run sooner or later but the money for the Moore horse is interesting as they have landed some gambles this week already
funnily enough a horse i’ve always followed since pam sly nearly pulled off a 33/1 coup with at wetherby , but has since become a solid low grade chaser for his permit holder , runs in same race as your selection , Mortens Leam , ran okay until fitness told last time at ffos las , won at this time last year at fontwell , a rf with yours smokey !! both are so called outsiders !!
Not very original but the grey scholar catches the eye. Mark bradstock has a few good horses from the point fields, this being one of them in the 12.30.
Coded message for the inform Ben case with his son claiming 7 also one for me . Cracking card for a Monday.
Said Moore horse gamble looks like it’s on 10/1 in to 5/1- however still think American Life will run a big race
Plumpton 3.00 Tommy The Rascal Last time before he run at this track a cracking 2nd at 40/1 I wrote here that trainer Jeannie Candlish very rarely sends runners to Plumpton. Todays step up in trip could be what he needs to finally get his head in front.
I’ll be drinking Velvet Cognac when I’m living the American Life when Jamie wins the last or I’ll be throwing my hands High Up In The Air saying Fizzlesticks if he loses but hopefully and if I don’t get any winners beforehand I will be for waiting that Timely Gift of a winner! (I’ll get my coat )
Moore yard aren’t in amazing form with 3 from 38 in last 14 days and apparently 39% of runners running to form. So today might be an interesting day if you are backing the yards horses at short prices. I had a chat with Liam Harrison yesterday at Fergals, such a down to earth lad who has an interesting ride today. Hopefully he has a good day today and the horse has been backed too. Vaziani in the 2:00.
Anyone see any Festival winners at Cheltenham’s 2 day weekend fixture??? I guess the meet was as much though about ‘bubbles burst’ as reputations enhanced.
I am a big fan of Thyme Hill now, he looks the real deal in the parade ring and that win was very convincing. Whether he will be good enough to beat the Irish horses, I don't know, but I expect him to prove the best of the UK crop. He reminds me quite a bit of Thistlecrack in his appearance and what impressed me is that he still has quite a bit of development left in him. It will be interesting to see how Defi Du Seuil and Politologue go on in the Tingle Creek, I think the latter will be the better of the two at Sandown and might go off a decent enough price if they meet again. The one thing about the meeting was the lack of end to end gallop, which makes it so difficult to tell who is likely to be best of the fields when/if they meet on spring ground in big fields at the festival. A good few bubbles burst, but actually the best trials for the festival were probably over in Ireland.
