Humble apologies rainer, you are quite right. Here's a picture of said Mr Lancaster to make up for it: I thought this one of Lancaster's best roles, the way he tries to make the dumb redneck understand the thought process of the Apache.
Oddy, we're not going to agree about Aldrich, whom I've always regarded as opportunistic, meretricious and several other adjectives with a lot of vowels in them. But perhaps you're right, and I've let my prejudice make me undervalue Ulzana's Raid. (If you'll put up with one last piece of patronising, Larry McMurtry's book "Crazy Horse" is the most perceptive thing I know about white America's changing attitudes to its native peoples). Palace are not looking promising against the squawking and guano-dropping Seagulls, and I fear this may not be a good night's viewing. My June masterplan is to lay Dawn Approach in the ante-post market until the Central Euopean Bank has to step in to save it.
Not read much of Mr McMurty rainer - just "Duane's Depressed" although I did like that so may sample some more. That gentleman of the forum, Mr CHIEF MECHANIC, put me onto the best book about American Indians I have ever read - Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee Good luck with the Dawn Approach project - if he stays he wins, if not he doesn't. Binary stuff
Super to see that from Mossey. Looks to be getting right back to his best. If he's in this form come next year he looks by far the most likely winner of the Cheltenham Hunter Chase. 7/4 was a hilarious price in the end!
Agreed ROTO, travelled and jumped like an absolute dream. Ended up backing him when he hit 2-1. Salsify looked pretty tidy the last day so would be tough to split the two at their best, though obviously Mossey seems classier.
Mossey is a super classy horse. Finally seems to be settling better and it wouldn't surprised me if he switched back away from Hunter Chases and just used this season as a confidence building exercise. He's always been one of my favourite horses and nothing would please me more if he lands what would be a thoroughly deserved big prize along the way.
lads - looked more like Southwell the amount of dirt they were kicking up - looked very dry and loose (as opposed to wet and loose which is how I like my women )
Need to get up a bit earlier or not get distracted by the golf the night before! Both of these ran really well. The first one,Plenum, got just a little outpaced and needed it more..definitely one to keep the right side of. The second one,Plutocracy, won easily at 11/4 and could go far this season and will improve loads..certainly has a lovely pedigree.
Who's taking over from Moyes lads? I've taken 7/2 about the Cardiff manager, Malky Mackay. With Moyes starting on Monday at OT they'll surely want to move speedily to resolve the void. It'll get more and more difficult to hold onto their best players if they don't shore up the gap.
