So in other words you are not allowed to have a different opinion and if you do it is wrong? In all of the games since (and including) the Everton defeat we have been worthy of something - played some good football - OK not for 90 minutes but at least for half of the game - but we have got nothing - this isn't Martin O'Neill's fault. As I have said before, how long will we give Poyet? I reckon 3 months after O'Neill went (if it happened - I don't think it will or should) Why would Martinez, Laudrup or Poyet come here? What endearing qualities do we as a club (and as fans) have - if they read this thread they will see that fans are not willing to give a manager time (1 year?) to put things right when they go wrong. Laudrupp, Martinez and Payet are under no pressure at all at their current clubs yet they would take the pressure of having our 35000+ fans on their back when things go wrong in 2 months (or possibly even less) - Martinez turned Liverpool down so why would he come here? My opinion - I think O'Neill will be gone if we lose tomorrow night - I don't WANT that to happen as he has got the team playing some nice stuff now - they nwere CLAPPED from the pitch on Saturday after ANOTHER decent performance - results mean the most but at least we are playing some nice stuff I certainly don't want O'Neill out but I think results matter - That is my opinion and, whether you agree or not I am entitled to that opinion
Erm I think it's Mr Short to you pal rather than 'Ellis'? I dont think Martinez, Laudrup or Poyet would give a stuff about Sunderland. If we do replace O'Neill we'll get in an English Northern manager - its what we've always done. The only foreign manager we'll have in the next 10 to 15 years will have been Keane.
Normally when the honeymoon period is finished, there will be a run of results which match the standard of the squad and then once the manager has fully settled he will improve (or go backwards) so while I understand O'Neil has a big reputation in the game, maybe in this case he was the perfect short term manager to sort you out last season but simply doesn't work long term. If after Christmas you're still in a relegation battle then it will take even the most optimistic fan to suggest O'Neil is all of a sudden going to have you playing better as a team and get results.
He's had 12 months. It is a very short period of time. If you keep sacking managers you'll get nowhere except relegated. He hasn't done particularly well so far, I get that but look around the PL, which teams are the most consistent? Man U, Everton, Stoke, Arsenal. Common theme, managers have been given time. Should you be doing better with your squad? Yes but so should many other teams (ourselves included!) Its a competitive league.
Tonight's the night the blackcat's have there picnic, two up front, has to be ffs. Got a feeling in me watter that we'll do them. Stick with mon...KTF. 3-0 UP UP AND AWAY.
