gotta agree with that - i thought Bruce was ok but he reverted to hoofball which he does when he panics - he played like that when he first started with us which is why Blackburn scored against us, he hoofed it straight into the Blackburn player rather than clearing it with some degree of composure - Bruce benefits from having two good centre backs around him, yesterday he only had Macca which meant he had to take greater responsibility - he's a very solid defender but wouldn't be my choice of pick 3 from Hobbs, Chester, Faye, Macca and Bruce - funny that Bruce picked out his 2 centre backs as having a good game without mentioning anyone else
This one is quite hard but in the end I've gone for 1) Jakupovic - Made a couple of decent saves 2) Simpson - Held the ball up well 3) Cairney - Had to really think about the third one
1st) Olofinjana 2nd) Cairney 3rd) McShane The team were truly appalling throughout that match, but I thought Oli played one his best game in a City shirt. Cairney looked assured and confident IMO, and looks to be making good progress. McShane was the only defender who looked comfortable. Dawson was having a torrid time and Bruce cannot play as the centre man in the defence. He's much better in either LCB or RCB alongside Faye/McShane as he did before. I think that Bruce and McShane should have swapped positions. Jakupovic would come joint 3rd as he continues to prove his doubters wrong.
so apart from the goal, and Bruce's lucky break when Mooney 'fell-over' his outstretched comatose body in the area, how many out-and-out chances did Orient have? I think the defense did 'OK' and only Lisbie really looked a danger
Mcshane Proschwitz Cairney Poor performance, no threat from out wide, lacked pace, strikers had nothing to work with so I don't blame them(Although Simpson seems to be hitting that time were he has really really bad form, and when he's not confident he's absolutely awful) big Nick did well with no creativity in the midfield, even if a striker doesn't play well it doesn't matter as long as they score.
