1. Brady 2. Jakupovic 3. Diame I was hoping Bruce might have brought Aluko on a little earlier, he looked very lively. We are obviously missing Jelavic and I thought Ramirez did well in holding the ball when he came on.
....and we started a lot better than last week - could hardly have been worse mind - but the lads were clearly up for it.
The passing was as good as I've seen from them this season I thought, rapid and confident. But that made it all the more annoying when Jakupovic kept kicking the ball back to Liverpool.
It doesn't help that our only tactic was to aim for Elmo on the right wing. He won the first few headers but then Liverpool soon sussed it out by having double cover and blocking Elmo's runs towards the ball. We're a good passing side - don't know why we don't pass out from the back more often. Davies Brady Livermore would have put Diame in there but he needs to learn when to pass and when to take on a defender. He's an outstanding player still. Livermore ran his socks off.
This sums it up for me, great effort all round but in particular those that stepped into the breach, they proved that they wanted to take their chance and truly gave 100%. Honourable mentions to the rest of the team as they all showed up and proved that, no matter who the opposition, they will be no walkover for any team this season.
Curtis Davies does seem to thrive on being the main man at the back, seems to play better when Dawson is not along side him.
what is it with Alex Bruce.. he plays his best games vs the big teams; LFC twice and Arsenal in the Cup Final..
It certainly seems that way, I felt if he had not gone off at Wembley we would have seen the game out for a win.
