Hobbs (his Bobby Moore tackle in the first half swayed it) Chester (The new Beckenbauer) Brady (two assists!)
Mcshane Gedo Hobbs Lots of arguments over whether Macca played better than Chester, but Hobbs gets quietly on with it, winning headers and making tackles, we have some fantastic defenders, but Gedo does look an accomplished player, he could make the difference
Hobbs Gedo Chester Elmo would normally be in there, but the way he bottled the tackle for their goal means he is neutral for the game overall after the winner.
Chester Gedo Elmo Chester's second half performance was as good as I've ever seen from a City defender, including Turner, his interceptions were absolutely faultless. Elmo nearly dropped out for pussying out for their goal, but scoring the winner pulled it back for me.
1. McShane 2. Chester 3. Gedo As many have said, hard to leave Elmo out, same with Brady. McShane was deserving of MOTM I thought, as it's based over the full game - and in the first half McShane was the only one who made himself available, the rest of the team looked asleep and like they'd rather be anywhere else but on the pitch. Chester was immense in the second half - I think a much closer central partnership in a back 4 suits him better than a back 3. Gedo simply because his energy and enthusiasm sparked us into life, had he not come on, I don't doubt we'd have carried on the second half like we did the first. Plus, his early second half header helped.
McShane Brady Gedo I counted four times last night that Macca was given hospital passes. He dealt with all of them and just got on with it. Top performance. Can't give Hobbs and Chester a place in my top 3 for the laughable defending of the cross for their goal, both of them tackled Stockdale, one from the front and one from the back. Elmo can't get in there because of his weak tackle that started the move. Brady gets second place for his two crosses that gave us two goals. Plus he put a real shift in defensively. Gedo gets in there for his goal which was quality, his effort which was non-stop and his attitude.
1. Gedo - not bad a debuts go! 2. Chester - saved us a couple of times I think 3. Brady - actually didn't think his general play was great at all, but two deliveries that won us the game. honourable mentions: Elmo, didn't quite play as he can but some good crosses and a goal of course! Fair to say he was at fault for the Derby goal but always nice to see people atone for their mistakes. Mcshane also had a reasonable game but a couple of errors more than his recent performances.
Final result: Gedo McShane Chester That McShane is above Chester is crazy, as OLM says that performance from Chester on Tuesday is one of the best I've ever seen from a City player, but that's the way it goes.
It's daft, the whole McShane thing is so over the top. He plays okay but because its him and we're used to seeing him be dog **** people go 'oh he's brilliant' I love McShanes attitude, his fight, and he's done well this season but lets not get over the top.
