He works hard, he's strong, quick, the ball sticks to him and he makes the right runs. He's basically nothing like our other strikers.
There are some discerning views on here that, although not in total agreement, do seem to indicate that we have a core of quality in key areas. Can't fault what Gedo is doing; well worth 300 quid to have him well hung in the KC.
We've only seen about a game and a half from him but so far I'd say he's an all-round good striker. He tries to run in behind a lot which none of our other strikers do, his heading at goal is good (but he's not really a target man), he's fairly quick and can beat a man. He hasn't had a lot of shooting chances but he's scored in both games. I'll reserve judgement on his finishing until we see him get a one-on-one with the keeper or a simple shot in the box or something. 1) Elmo 2) Brady 3) Chester They could have been in any order really. All three were their usual classy selves. Plenty of good performances today: Gedo looked lively again and got an all important tap-in as dj alluded to, Simpson worked hard and linked up well but got gradually worse as the game went on, Meyler was all action as always but he still needs to stop being a **** playing for free kicks and giving sly little fouls when it's easier to just play the ball fairly, Quinn was very active as ever, Bruce and Hobbs made a lot of good tackles between them and McShane made a couple of good covering tackles including the one which he pulled his hamstring making and Stockdale made some good saves and kept the ball moving well too. So good all round!
Fast, strong, good in the air, good ball control, great movement... We're very lucky to have him, he's definitely capable of playing at a higher standard
I think I need glasses. At half time I said to my lad that I couldn't work out why Oxley was warming up and why he was wearing a white number 1 shirt. 'That's the Charlton goalie Dad' I can't even blame the sauce, sober as a judge.
This was my first game of the season and I was very impressed with elmo, easily my man of the match. Gedo was impressive, seemed to be in the right place at the right time. Is that the same mcshane we had last season? Until he was injured, he looked solid. As an extra, fathi looks like he'll be a good addition. All in all a good performance, but wasted a lot of good chances imo. UTT
Didn't realise Fez ... Iv only managed to make 4 games this season. :-( That linesman was blind as ball went well out of play but he didn't see it . He would have been on biggest cock up of season if city had scored from that...
1) Meyler 2) Chester 3) Gedo (cos he scored), but I also thought Simpson played well although without the threat of goal in he continues to be an enigma.
It's easier for me to do a NOT MOM; 1. Simpson - always facing the wrong way, can't control a ball, no sign his drought will end this century! 2. Bruce - only as a CM, his heading in this position was poor and he's way too slow. That's it, all the rest were good
