I tend to moan about meyler quite a lot at the game Only about his poor technical ability and constantly giving the ball away unnecessarily, I'd still have him in the team every day of the week, just not as a forward midfielder I'd have him holding where his qualities will be used to full effect and his weaknesses won't be highlighted so much.
You could start Meyler anywhere and he'd still end up in the attacking midfielder position. He's just one of them true box-to-box players and probably makes the best runs in our side. Wherever he starts he does the same
I think his box to box ability is the best thing about him, I totally agree that he isn't a gifted player at all, I think you need a player like Meyler in your team to be quite honest.
That's a good point, but he's a goal threat isn't he? He gets into loads of good positions, which is why he's been unlucky to see 4 good chances in the last 2 games all be saved well or blocked by good defending. His finishing bizarrely seems to be better than his passing. He's one of those players like Kevin Nolan who isn't especially skillful but very effective.
