Elmo Meyler Hobbs Almost impossible to pick just three from last night, Gedo, Koren and Brady could easily have been in there.
Hobbs Meyler Brady Elmo had a great second half after struggling a bit in the first. Koren ran all day, Quinn was excellent, Chester great as usual, Evans did exactly what he had to. Gedo was quiet in the main, probably suffering a little from the amount of games in a short period of time but he was there and did exactly what he had to with the goal. Bruce was solid and Stockdale commanded his area well but otherwise had bugger all to do. Overall a fantastic team performance.
Agreed, I feel guilty leaving Meyler, Quinn and Brady out, but.... Hobbs Elmo Koren Koren's best match in a few months, as with Quinn. Hobbs was immense, and they couldn't handle Elmo in the 2nd half. To be fair, Gedo wasn't that good in my mind apart from where it counted; at the end of that ball, knocking it in the net, but that is all we want from him.
Hobbs Meyler Elmo Wonderful team performance, as Bruce said it was the best performance since the Leeds game.
Brady Elmore Quinn with Hobbs a close 4th. This is the first game after moving back to the area I have seen and if they play like this every week then I am going to enjoy it.
I took a friend who's an ex-leeds fan to the game...he's moved from Wetherby to North Cave having seen the light and he thought Hobbsy was a rock. An all round great performance and for once the prat sat behind me was kept quiet an no berrating. As with the general consensus, not a bad game by any of the team but but still need to select three standouts; In order; Hobbs Meyler Elmo
The amount of people around me that moan about Meyler, they don't even notice the job he does for the team, that's how much they know about football.
Hobbs Elmo Brady Gedo gets a special mention, obviously got great national fitness. Everybody put a great shift in on Tuesday. I'll say this though, Alex Bruce doesn't really look comfortable on the ball to me. His passing ability is a bit naff, which is a shame because his tackling and heading is great.
