Hard to pick just 3, but I got Davies - Was the best player on the pitch for me and was still making clearances and charging forward late, despite his legs being all but gone. Bruce - His communication skills at the back and covering was brilliant. The best game I've seen him play since, Man United at home. Fryatt - I think he is still running around the Wembley pitch lol. What he lacks in pace, he more than made up for it with his hustle and effort.
Davies Chester Livermore Still never get the Bruce love, probably his best game for us don't get me wrong but he was solely at fault for getting Arsenal back into the game by giving away a free kick. But tbf yesterday wasn't about blaming, individuals everyone played to the best of there abilities. I thought Davies was exceptional and Chester was his usual not doing anything fancy self, and not making any huge tackles as he doesn't have to due to his reading and positional skills.
Very hard to pick MOM as all gave a 100% and more, but have gone for: Davies (Stood out and a warrior) Chester (Coming back from injury, he was immense) Huddlestone ( Hardly put a foot wrong all afternoon) Special mentioned for Rossy, Fryatt, Livermore, Bruce Elmo & Quinn who had excellent games also.
Davies Chester Fryatt Need to give Boyd an honourable mention. Fantastic work rate when he came on and made some great challenges.
At one point, probably half time I was thinking about this, who would my MOM be & I honestly would have said all, but as the game wore on, one player came to the fore! Outstanding performance from Curtis Davies. After that it was tough, all had outstanding games, so I can't pick out anyone for 2 & 3. If we'd won then I think Davies would have been MOM OVERALL! He's a credit to our club & to professions football overall!
1.Davies- no words needed. f**king awesome. 2.Bruce- as above. 3.Quinn- I've not always been that complimentary of Quinny but brilliant display yesterday. All the boys played their part , Chester, Rosey and Fryatt deserve a special mention also. Oh and Livermore and Huddlestone.
Have to agree with comments regarding Davies - definitely MOM for me. Not sure about Bruce though. His header allowed Davies to score and he made some good tackles, but his did carelessly give away the foul which led to their first goal.
Cazorla had to do the rest though and he did it with flying colours. Bruce was monumental, showed so much pride and passion in his display.
Davies Bruce Fryatt Honourable mentions for Chester, Quinn and Huddlestone, but they were all excellent.
1. Davies (Hope Roy was watching to see what he's missing out on) 2. Bruce (Proved a lot of people wrong again, including myself) 3. Fryatt (Really hopes he signs a new deal, he looks a better player under Bruce and can see him starting more games next season)
Going to try and count up the votes from this, Villa, Man United and Everton this afternoon in order of when the games were played if there are any more votes to come. Will post the season's stats tonight too as long as I get them all counted.
