Having read this thread with interest, a couple of points do stand out for me. 1. If you wish to have new mods, then your mods have to make a request to the supermods. The supermods then have a look at the poster's history etc - something which ordinary mods cannot do - and then a decision is made, after consultation. 2. If you feel you have no need for mods, then maybe, just maybe, it might be worth asking one of the supermods to retract all mod powers on this board. There are a few boards that do not have any mods at all, and seem to function perfectly well. Either way, your mods will have to go through the supermods somehow and for someway, unless of course, you decide to leave it as it is.
Btw, happy to have a third mod but I suspect the request will be ignored by the supermods. However, I can ask the site owner if everyone agrees that's what is needed or if you would prefer, I can step down. I'll leave it to you all to decide
I realise my opinion doesn't count on this subject, but Dan, I completely agree with you, H fights tooth and nail when required as has been ably demonstrated, she also often forgets to predict, which gives the poor predictors among us the chance not to fall too far behind!
Thanks Resurgam - useful to know the process. Hope this means you read our other threads with interest too - even if you do not post here often. I like having Mods as you know they can step in if things need to be done - which on this board is very rare. H and BHD have been good Mods for us and I only raised the thread as neither now posts here much. When I was Mod I saw it as part of the function to try to keep the board "active". If nobody posts on non football topics you get a very quiet or dead board - ours is very much alive. I know Norway felt the same as I do on posting frequently and engaging others. Now - even as a humble member I respect not606 and am thankful it exists. Maltese Mick has done a great job and when we are not solving Scottish independence or putting to rights the entire world I love to read the real football threads. Our match day thread is usually great. I would like to see BHD return to regular posting - to show he is still interested and active on this site - or he should quit as it is a duty not a right. Although it is unimportant in the grand scheme of things both our Mods have not posted predictions this week - BHD not for several - now that only takes a moment and suggests to me a fairly large lack of interest in things on here. Twice I have asked BHD to comment here - that he has not suggests he is not even reading it - and therefore is not doing his job. I am more critical of him now than when I began this thread for that very reason.
overall... are they any real issues..does anything need fixing? if we need mods who are more present.... do we ask our current mods their views? i have at times wished for more active modding... but the issue has seemed more to do with freedom of speech etc...
H did a great job when we were having issues with supermods. As for Dan, I miss his comments from the training field but we all move on to different stages in our lives. I am ambivalent about needing new mods. Generally we don't need them but their may come a time when we do need someone to stand up for us, and that may occur suddenly. I, personally, would like to know that someone is there, as I enjoy this board and don't want it high-jacked. (Bit like the WFC need for a defence when we are 2 up.)
Thank you, that's kind . I'm still around but admit I don't have anywhere near as much time as I'd like.
I read your board as often as I do many others. I only post if I think I can add something. If you have a problem with that, then I suggest you either delete my comments or ban me from your board. Life is far too short to get het up by a football forum. ps. Glad you found my post interesting.
But you still have the determination to slog up the M6 and back to get behind the lads! That's good enough for me, H. I'd like to echo what NZ said.
For what it is worth I am pleased I raised this question. BHD seems to have been tempted back to make one or two comments - even though he did not do us the courtesy of visiting here to tell us what he wanted. As we have all said H is fantastic and represented us on her own against the super mod interference. By copy of this I request H to close this thread as there is no general clamour for Mod change and it is not something that needs debating to death. Thanks all for your views.
Thank you Leonardo, consider it done. And thank you GG. And Leonardo, my defence against supermods was not entirely alone since you were a great help. Thank you .
