I've had a lot of crap jokes on my phone today...but not this one. <doh>...are the Fails reporters mostly Chavs or something, just can't leave it alone!

His origins are even more irrelevant than the article Luke, I don't know where going with that? I've read some horse-**** lately but this is in the top 10.

That was the whole reason behind the comment, Lidls.
The suggestion was that whichever journo thought this up made a very poor connection between a Chelsea squad player and Spurs.

What's this nonsense about Benayoun being Jewish?

Spurs may have Jewish connections but so do many other clubs and when has there been a policy of Spurs recruiting Jewish players? North London isn't Glasgow. Religion isn't an issue is it?

Apart from Ronnie Rosenthal, I'm struggling to think of a Spurs player who was Jewish or whose religion was known or declared.

Our nickname is "Yid army" Luke. This genius from the Fail has then attempted to use that "connection" with Benayoun being Jewish to try and make a "credible" transfer rumour.

The Jews are regarded as an ethno-religious group Notso, so it's not as dumb as it sounds.
Someone can be part of the Jewish culture, without being religiously Jewish.
If somebody born into a Jewish family becomes an atheist, then they're still a Jew... ish! <laugh>

Exactly PNP...I wonder how long it took the person who had to explain that to Becks! <laugh>

Luke I can understand you racking your brain for Israeli players, but you also said players with a declared faith...we've had enough North African and Middle East muslim players...Ghaly, Naybet, for starters.

Give over Luke, if they're from that part of the world, practising or not they're muslim. If you think Naybets parents from Morocco aren't, there must be something wrong with you.
