It doesn't look like Mali will be qualifying for the ACON, and I definitely don't think it's a sure thing Ameobi will be in the Nigeria squad if they do qualify

People talk a lot about last year's 'grit', but let's also remember for all of the memorable wins, there were some absolute howlers (Bolton, Stoke, WBA). I think the added skill and depth of this season's squad will help to avoid losses like that

How old is he? Is there room for him to get better or are we getting a player at his peak?

We will still have an English presence in Taylor (S), Simpson and Barton who will all play regularly this season, and Ryan Taylor, Gosling, Guthrie and Ameobi will all get good game time. I would never want a team without atleast a couple of English / British players, but as the national team have shown, being English isn't exactly synonomous with success.

I feel we've a good mix, the 3 regular English players will get stuck in and the likes of Cabaye and Ben Arfa will give us the spark that we've been largely missing since January.

Our team in January will still be good:

    Krul
Simpson Taylor Colo Pieters (If he signs)
    Jonas Barton Cabaye Marveaux
    Ben Arfa
    Best/New Striker

I cant say this lad would anything more than what we already have got. We've got 3 big lads up front already that are all quite similar........why buy another..?

    No Deal.

He's quicker than the lot of them and can play out wide. Also can score goals, which can rarely be said for Shola/Lover.

I guess you've seen him play more than the rest of us? Otherwise you'd be making a lot of assumptions about his style of play based simply on his height..

Football talent is more than just attributes like 'he's strong' or 'he's tall', you mong.

We could have 3 big lads up front with similar playing styles, but one could score 5 goals a season while the other gets 15. I don't care what sort of attributes they have. If they score goals, I'm game, and this guy looks like he can do that.

We need a pacy striker, it doesnt matter about his height. Just because he's tall, doesn't mean he plays a similar style to Ba or Ameobi. Look at Obertan, 6'2" and one of the fastest in the PL. We need pace, and apparently he has it

Believe it or not, but tall people can be fast and skillful too, shocking I know.
