    he's another big lad though. i was expecting us to go for a short nippy striker. that being said the likes of darren bent etc aren't especially small and they're quick with no trouble finding the net.

    Quickish but nothing like a Martins, I would say he can defo outsprint Ba and Ameobi. But thats not really a challenge.......

    Haven't heard of him (which isn't always a bad thing). I think the striker will come in very close to deadline day and a LB this week. I'll be on holiday so will miss the deadline day circus <wah>

    If Sturrdige doesn't get any first team action before deadline day he'll defo be angling for a move, a good season somewhere and he's in the Euro squad next summer. Better than Defoe, Crouch etc as back-up to Rooney and Carroll. It's in his interests to move.

    Why do we insist on collecting tall gangly strikers? I would prefer a smaller nippy striker like what we were aiming for with Gameiro and Erdinc.

    Seems desperate to come here, I'd certainly throw him into the mix for Saturday providing we get him in time, sounds like he has great desire.

    Modibo Maiga is a good player but because he is from Africa won't he be playing in the ACN next year? give him a miss I think we need a european based/South American Striker
    who will play week in,week out.

    I would not say 100metres or someone like Martins pace, but it seems sufficient to potentially stretch a defence. I kinda hoped for a speed merchant alongside Ba but maybe Pardew likes the 2 big men up-top.

    Think we'll use Obertan in the free role/inside forward for stretching defences and the offside trap.

    Speaking of Obertan and his pace, what happend to the masterplan counter attack from defending corner kicks (basic tactics but we haven't used it for years) it does my nut in when we have 11men defending set pieces.
