I'm still a moderator! Mad. Out of curiousity, what's the consensus? Is this place less mental than when I was posting on here? I do miss posting articles, but all the grief that comes with being associated with this forum I do not.

No Scott, not much has changed.

So much vitriol. Posters winding people up then complaining when they get it thrown back at them. Some seem to just want conflict, unfotunately and that's what's forced Norway out. It's pathetic.

Then occasionally, we'll have a chat about the Swans.

 

From memory Norway spent most of his time baiting people anyway, so he can hardly complain if he ended up getting loads of stick.

 

I hope you wont mind me popping on here and coming out with the following. It is meant in good faith as I am sad to see what happens to the Swans board all too often and as I consider myself to be "friendly" with you guys and I feel the same feeling back from the majority on here.

You have a set of forum rules and 4 moderators yet you still have more issues than most, why is this?

I can only think of the following reasons.

1. Either the rules are not right for the board and need a few changes here and there.
2. Too many moderators and that may be creating a grey area in the moderation of the board.
3. Some members just cannot restrain themselves.

Out of all the moderators in the past I think they have been pretty reasonable and fair under the circumstances and hopefully the next "batch" will be similar. Now given that since not 606 was launched you have gone through about 8-10 moderators, you have a fairly high ratio of rational people on here that are capable of acting in an adult but clearly there is a very small percentage that are not and these are the ones that have to be dealt with, with the blessing of the majority. Up to you guys as to how you do that but I think you need to rid yourselves of the disruptive few unless they can learn to hold back and not incite or conduct abusive behaviour - even if some of the others don't like it. Might seem a bit draconian to some but unless you want the board to die a sad death, I don't see you have many other options as it's obvious some people just cannot ignore posters that upset or annoy them and feel the need to enter a cyber fight all the time.

Apart from quite a few occasional danish visitors, same old same old but not as bad as KJ makes out.

You just need to be selective to be effective on here. Enjoyed your contribution in the oast, and you don't have to rise tobthe bollocks now your not technically a mod (Ash has been told that its getting changed)
