Consider it a probation period for the only 3 guys who had the balls to step up. If it works, great. However it gives Ash a hand, provides round the clock cover, cover for their not606 paid holidays, cover for the not606 mod training sessions and allows for attrition should somebody change their mind.

Come on you only need one mod, why have 4 or 5? what is the point of that. all it does is form a little gang and defeats the object. there are plenty who come on here every day so you only need one of them to be the judge and jury and decide what is acceptable and what is not and his word is final. you dont need more than that. If the mod is going away then he can appoint someone to caretake until he returns...less hassle, less disagreements and less bullshit....one mod is enough...

Actually I think it's a good idea we all know sometimes things get heated and in the past a mod hasn't always been around to cool things down PLUS mods are human too and maybe someone else has a different slant on things and could maybe see a problem differently , I really think it's a good idea

 

Have to disagree Dai. It's a lot for one person, very time consuming. Having 4 mods will send a message that this board is a strong one and any wums putting up silly threads won't be tolerated and zapped in no time.

Imagine this scenario, 1 mod on holiday for a week and some twat comes on here with a thread called go and **** yourselves you Welsh twats ! There'd be bedlam and we all know it. Ash had made a good decision, strength in numbers and they're all long standing regulars.

 

I disagree, you underestimate exactly what happens. Its ok when all plain and sailing, but Ash can testify how crazy it can get at times. 3 mods would be ideal imho, but why not try 4.

I can understand our concern about a clique, but I think its not going to happen. Posters 'change' when they become mods.

Ok ill take your point but how about this then....appoint a supermod who will be the main decider and has the final say no matter what and also appoint 3 assistants who can use their discretion if the super mod is off line. .The problem when you have nobody as the no1 mod is that you can get disagreements between the mods themselves. someone has to be the leader who has the ultimate decision on anything that may arise...

I say we trial the 4 mods for 1 month. Then, as per forum rules allow....anyone not happy and all they need to do is raise it, and we can vote. Who knows, by then one may have already decided its not for them.
