Because it has very little educational or cultural value, what part of empty fields do you think will be a beneficial learning experience?.

Yes and no. It's always good for people to see that criticism and suggestions for moderation are listened to, and there are options if they're not happy. It keeps being said, but it makes it no less true, that this board is run by the posters, and it is the posters that should decide what is acceptable. All we do is tidy up a bit.

Sadly, it's ended up being a good example of why the rules are there, and why some sort of moderation is needed.

Ultimately, we're all mods on here, as we can control what we ourselves post. Clearly, that's not always such a good thing.

Should there be obligatory trips to Britain from schoolkids in Italy, Scandinavia, Saxony and Normandy to see the ravages caused by their empire building?

There's no way you don't realise the irony in this after saying it should be obligatory for British schoolkids to go to Belgium to learn about WWI...

Right, I'm away. I considered locking this, but I suspect if I do, it'll simply leach on to other threads, so I'll leave it, and assess the damage tomorrow.

For those that question the wisdom and timing of the thread, there was an issue raised that meant it needed to be asked and discussed, so it would have happened whether I started it or not.

Hopefully, it's been cathartic to some, and I hope we're all grown up enough to read it back, cringe a bit and draw a line.

The key thing for me is that if people have an issue, don't seethe and let it stew, let one or more mods know, and we will try to address it.

You’re the issue. You delete posts & threads you don’t agree with. Not because they break rules, or are worse than what others post, but because they highlight your ignorance & inadequacy. No answer? Delete.

You deleted a thread tonight highlighting all you do, asking for a change in mods, then made your own, as you have before. You’ve then sat on it deleting all you fancy whilst leaving all the **** from your racist & gammon chums.
    .
You’ve shown me to be correct. Not fit for purpose.

There are a lot of CWG cemeteries in Belgium- our ancestors who fought to liberate a neutral country and paid the ultimate price. Whilst over there they could visit other CWG cemeteries in Holland or France, where British combatants have fallen to liberate those countries.

So much to fill young impressionable minds.
