I said extremely pornographic, which it was. I am perfectly aware that there are many more extremes out there.
However, upon reflection, I decided that I wouldn't want my 13 year old to see it on a QPR football forum.

Agree with Col on this one.

Flyer are you talking about the right clip ? Not the first one but near the end ? I thought it was pretty hardcore and I definately ain't a prude.

And Cerny..........do us all a favour and either stop trying to get a rise out of people or simply f*** off. One day, god forbid, if you ever have kids you might realise what Col is talking about.

Thanks for this thread Brix. I check the board regularly but don't post that often. When I do, its usually on QPR threads and always because I have something to say. I've noticed recently that I might as well not bother posting, though, because most threads are dominated by a regular clique who ignore outsiders as they are much more interested in 'sparring' with each other - often on OT subjects. This is relatively recent, the forum used to be OK.

BR: Agree 22. Like your mate Woody, always the voice of reason.

Not trying to get a rise on here but why do some people take them self so seriously

It's the Internet ffs if your worried about what's on it don't go on it.....ain't rocket science

BR: You're right. Rocket science is a lot easier - just a matter of sorting solid and liquid fuel - and no leaks!!

As I said Cerny.....you ain't got kids so you really can't comment on how others try to protect theirs.

And as for not trying to get a rise out of Col ?? Please don't think we are stupid bruv.

But what about adding to it?

It's like arming yourself because you fear street crime.

And Col said he's no prude but is rightfully protective of his kid.

    It's pretty simple.

Some interesting points raised here. I personally don't mind the OT threads as they often give a welcome relief from the 'Adel is God/useless' threads and other subjects that get flogged to death regarding our current plight. You often see posters in a new light on some of them so that's welcome.

I certainly think there are one or two personality clashes that sometimes entertain but then can also get OTT to the detriment of the board, but the Mods wisely allow enough rope before hanging anyone out to dry for a 'period'.

BR: But are THEY listening though?.

There are some great contributions from many on here and I think our board has the right balance of serious/funny/topical/thoughtful posters along with DT who I see as our 'court jester' and I'm sure he landed on a spacecraft back in the 70s.

BR: Not true. That's just what he wants us to think!

What helps on here is our excellent Mods who, like a top referee, let our games flow and always 'play advantage' until someone tries to 'break a leg' so to speak. We are very fortunate to have to such well-balanced guys in charge here.

I think the rule on pictures should be if it could be shown on Page 3 it's ok, anything more explicit should not be on here, there is a plethora of every extreme perversion as well as normal porn available wherever you choose to look on the web, no need to show it on here. I like the bikini babes as much as the next man and appreciate the female form in all it's glory, but we don't need it on here in it's most derogatory form.

BR: Seems most who've exercised their right to a view, agree with us on that.

All in all, we've got a great board here and I wouldn't exclude any of our posters, we're the sum of our parts and all make this place special...

BR: Too true. We've all done our bit to get to the point where we can start to consider ways of moving up a level.

    Cheers Soops

That really nails it - after the humiliating loss to Swansea, we all have way too much time on our hands to dwell on things until Man Utd.

Would the new section still be bound by the the forum rules??

BR: IF there is a new section, we'd have to discuss the standards that apply to it. For example, I for one wouldn't and wouldn't preside over the kind of titillating, sensationalised car crash, kiddy fiddling, people's mangled parts 'revelations' I've had the displeasure of witnessing on the naughty little boys sideshow we call General Chat.

Has any seen me in a gym slip?
If any poster on here would care to join me and dress in vintage 70's ladies tennis outfits I am all ears

You must however understand the blue rose ...

There hasn't been any. What happens is people are so afraid of offending Muslims they treat them with kid gloves and any slight on them is magnified out of all proportion.
On the other hand, if its the Catholic church, you can open a thread about the Pope and call him all the names under the Sun but the "undercurrents" don't even register.
I don't blame Brix for this. Its just a symptom of modern, western society where any religion is fair game except Islam.

I have to say that out of all the posts I've read on here - and having called them "Churchill's pups" on more that one occasion  - COL and Sooper are spot on with their observations.

Both of them are talking pure common sense and should be listened too.

I think of the forum as a local pub.

When I want a quiet drink and listen to others I'll sit at the bar, sup my pint and listen to others without saying a word.

I know the guys who say what they like and like what they say. If I choose to engage then I have to accept their opinions.

If I don't like the crowd one day, then I'll drink elsewhere!

And just like a pub occasionally they'll be a few curses and exchanges, and people chucked out or banned.

    Landlord's prerogative.

In my opinion, it's just about right.

BR: Excellent points and very well put as mentioned by Ellers and Ninesy below.

You can't possibly be the cantankerous Secret Cerny writing stuff like that - or can you?!! (Just teasing.)

    Cheers Sku

I've just read five pages of this thread. Only to get to the end and see that Sku has summed it up in a nutshell. Well played Sku.

Couldn't be arsed reading through all of it. If Nines agrees with Sku's read of it, then that's good enough for me! I guess that's thread over so? <whistle>

My family has had a pub in the family for 6 generations now, and the rare ****ehawks and ****stirrers get a quick slap and/or get the door. The only difference here is there are virtual ****ehawks and virtual ****stirrers and they're not too bleedin' rare. <doh>

Christ, do I always sound that pompous?

I do apologise, I was between meetings where I was being deliberately bombastic and was clearly still in character. Sorry. That said, I stand by the underlying meaning of my post.

    "re-assimilating" Good grief <doh>

Good man Brix for putting this out there, and whilst I'm not going to add any new stance here, it would be rude not to post my feelings.

I'm most definitely in favour of OT threads. We develop relationships on here - friendships even perhaps, why would we then not talk about non QPR related issues - seems quite natural. It then obviously comes down to an element of self control to not allow threads to spiral out of control. Surely, as adults, we can achieve this?

    BR: I think so.

Given that this isn't an 18+ environment, we should, regrettably, consider the visuals though perhaps as per cols point. No one should be subjected to seeing those Gucci loafers that cerny dons to woo the ladies.

BR: Ha! On the point about pictures / images placed on here by the likes of Norf, Andy (gimmethickerhoops), Norway etc., the 'birds' ain't particularly relevant imo (you can get a plentiful supply of that all over the net), BUT I'd love to see that get stuck into providing image stuff to illustrate thread topics and interesting replies etc. like they used to do. Some of they stuff they're capable of producing is of memorable proportions in the history making sense.

Well done to Brix and nuts for doing what they do. An unenviable task with no reward, except the odd thanks. I think this is a great board, it's the only one I post on, and I'd miss it greatly if it wasn't here.

BR: As I said in answer to Swords a couple of pages back, there's plenty of reward to modding this board - which is why we do it. All it takes is a little applied effort from time to time and the pay off in terms of community fulfillment is tangible. Bit like nurturing a plant from seed to flower and back round again season by season. Very enjoyable sometimes - if you don't mind getting your hands dirty!

Lastly, I reckon we should attempt to get to a game en masse - and sit together - like a bunch of tourist, or typists! Be a laugh that.

BR: The meets I've experienced have been quality without exception. Made me feel even more part of the Rs (global) community without a doubt. Even my family agree on that from their own point of view. They've never been on here but already know a good few of the guys that do.

So yep, I'd be up for that - as long as Inky or someone else organises it!!

Cheers Woody (one of my faves!)
