Hoping someone might be able to help.
I have a Spanish bank account, which I access on line, or until recently, used to access.
Recently they introduced a second line of security, which means sending a code to my mobile, only I am not receiving the codes. As a result of this I cannot currently access my bank account.
According to the bank the codes are being blocked by my carrier, EE.
EE claim that the codes are being sent using a method that makes them appear as “stealth spam” or “invisible text”, so they automatically block them as a security risk.
So, does anyone else on here have an international bank account, that messages them in the same way, where they actually receive the texts?
If so, who is your UK carrier, because I have just reached the end of the EE contract and need to be able to move to a company that will accept the texts.

Was thinking of going over to O2.
Day off tomorrow, so will hopefully sort it out.

I would have to go through the rigmarole of registering the new number with the bank, though.

Surely all you need to do is register your old number with your new provider?? At least that is all I have ever done.........

I changed my mobile network from EE to O2, and solved the problem that was stopping me from accessing my bank.
Hooray, you might think. Well yeah, until I tried to log on to my account, earlier and didn’t receive a text.
No service!!!! Never had an outage with EE in 2 years. Been with O2 for 3 days and not had any service, for the last 4 hours or so!! :emoticon-0121-angry

I can say nothing but good things about EE - was with O2 (well BT Cellnet then O2) for about 7 years then went to vodafone for about 10 years. Been on EE for 3 years and they have been the best of the bunch. Great customer service too.

I wouldn’t have changed from EE if it weren’t for them blocking the text messages from my Spanish bank.
Problem with O2 today started at 15.20, apparently, and I am still without a service.

Interesting. I have a UK account with Lloyds but live in Serbia. When I tried to buy flights last week they sent a code to my mobile. But it wasn't mine it was my dads in the UK. This number was one I used when I first moved to Serbia. It hasn't been registered with Lloyds for 10 years but that's where they sent it. They didn't send it to the Serbian mobile which is the only one registered. In the end I had to Skype my dad to get the code in real time. When I get home next week I hope to sort this out with Lloyds. but then I'll probably get blocked by the Serbian telecom. Someone hasn't thought this out

    Can't you just use a dual-sim phone?

Plonk your old UK sim back in with the Serbian one.

And still the problem rumbles on, 4 days later.
Today their techies discovered what they refer to as a SOG error on the account and it could take another couple of days to sort it out.
Bloody frustrating as it is only at times like this that you realise just how reliant you are on that specific number.
    Banks, family, work and hospital.
The only saving grace, thus far, is a reduced first payment and a free pay as you go sim so that I can at least keep in touch with my sons.
