Many stadiums will have the same or worse imperfections (of positioning, air circulation, etc) but don't have the same issues we seem to have most years.

It’s certainly been relaid ahead of the last two seasons.

Do you know if we still use a pitch that's a mixture of grass and manure made fibre that was used to make it more durable in hosting football and rugby? I know when I was there that was one of the reasons the pitch was so hard to keep at a decent standard

I think pretty much every professional sport pitch is now hybrid grass.

I think most are approx 97% natural grass and 3% fibre, from what I remember ours was a much different make up ...but was years ago so who knows

I remember them saying how the technology (the grass system) was world leading.
    It clearly isn't.

Tan saying fixing the pitch comes out of the football budget is a slightly odd one, as Acun keeps suggesting he'd spend more if he could and infrastructure improvements don't count to FFP so the two are entirely unrelated.

Even if it doesn't affect FFP there's still only so much money

Well that's my point. Acun always says he wishes he could spend more and FFP is holding us back in that sense, so in theory there's money sitting there not being spent. They're talking about spending tens of millions on the training pitch etc for instance. 2m on the pitch is a relative pittance.

Would you spend money on a property when the lease is running down and the landlord will not let you build an extension :emoticon-0100-smile

If you're making money off doing so, sure why not?

I think petitions are a bit premature, we have no idea what the club has proposed, what the ownership model is or what the funding asks are. I’d like some basic facts before reaching for my pitchfork collection.

I agree. I also don’t feel it’s my business to pressure a Council that doesn’t represent me.

Plenty of land between Ferriby and Hessle. Just off the A63, existing park and ride could still be used, stick a new train station in for match days, sorted.

Most of the players live in one of the West Hull villages anyway, don't they? Shorter commute, saving the environment. Nailed it.

So if Tan is telling the truth, and why should he make it up? and the cost of the pitch comes out of the football budget then what is Hull Fc's contribution?
