I don't think there'd be any issue at all in extending the lease, or stadium expansion on the existing site, it's just linking it to a poor training facility plan that's an issue.
I feel like there is a bit of rewriting history here. The public were behind the Allam family on the whole when they wanted to build around the stadium. It was after that all the issues came. And I’m thankful they didn’t get it. They’d have made a mess of it.
You seem to be conflating the 21m loss City have just posted (which by the way is pre-KLP's sale so we actually posted a 5m loss) with the accumulated 21m loss in the SMC which are two different things.
I know I'm wasting my time here, but just for the hell of it. The SMC have not posted a £21m loss in twelve months, they've posted a £2m(odd) loss in twelve months, the £21m is a cumulative loss run up over the past twelve years. Pearson isn't asking the council for anything, the council have absolutely no involvement in FC's terms, it's between the SMC and FC.
I'm hopeless with accountancy, but if your correct ( and I'm not doubting you) how does a £2M loss in 12 moths fit with FFP? it sounds better than I'd hoped?
For the record and I have posted this view several times, I see nothing in this proposed 'Sporting Village' on Walton Street to give it any legs at all. The club do not have the funds to build it and the council, Liberals and Labour, will never come to a decision on it, or put anything in the pot to do so. The issue is not just the training ground, which is actually better than some people give it credit for, ( at least we own it) It is the Academy based out at Bishop Burton. If we could bring both facilities together on a site the club owned, then wonderful. Walton Street isn't and never will be that site. Also if the club seriously think the council are going to hand over acres of free land inside the city boundary to build this then they are seriously deluded. Land is cheaper and more accessible beyond the city boundary, along the A63/M62, midway between Hull and Goole. The stadium is adequate as we are today. The pitch is a huge problem, it needs replacing, and it will never be Boothferry Park standard as long as we share usage with another sport. So we have problems, shared ownership is one, the SMC is obviously another. But I cannot help thinking that a little movement from the council on the length of the lease might help a great deal, and also show us how serious and genuine the present regime are. So it has to come from both sides and they need to get together and be honest. And of course everything hinges on us getting promoted, which for the moment should be the priority, until then all of this is a meare side show.
OLM seems to be pointing out where you are wrong, as opposed to arguing with you. I don’t need a history lesson regarding City. Adam Pearson couldn’t take us any further because his backer asked for his money back, and he didn’t have enough left to be able to invest, and as far as the Allams proposition went I don’t think that expecting the council to give him the stadium for nothing would ever be accepted.
The SMC has NOT posted a loss of £21m in under 12 months. The image below is from the company accounts. It posted a loss of 2.3m in 2023 and 1.5m in 2022. The 2023 accounts Net liabilities of £19.5m as of March last year. Presumably that will have increased again come the accounts for 2023. I make no comment on whether this is a good or bad deal but its easy to see the finances on companies house. https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/04179402/filing-history
I'm a little confused by Superstadium Holdings Limited being listed as the parent company, as it's actually registered as dormant and isn't currently trading.
Slightly worrying if professionals don’t know the difference between the plural of company (companies) and the singular possessive (company’s).
"Superstadium" is pushing it a bit lol Maybe decent stadium with design issues and a ****e pitch might be closer to the mark.
The frustrating thing is there’s so much empty land around Millhouse Woods Lane, surely it would be easier to try develop that instead of around the stadium?
