At times 09 looked like a 3 year old chasing a ball around the garden. Ended up in the right place for the goal though.

He was like that when he first joined wasn't he but he soon settled down, probably doing the same thing now being a bit over eager to impress after coming back from injury.

Took the goal well he's got good instincts in front of goal. Desperately need more players to chip in.

Do you honestly believe Burge has nothing to do with the state of our defence?

I am not blaming him for all our defensive woes yesterday, although he was at fault yet again, but I do not believe we will have a settled back four with him in nets. If I was playing in front of him, I'd be nervous he was going to **** up. After Matthews very composed performance in the week, I'd much rather he was given the gloves, but improve the back 4 in front of him.

Vokins should be more than capable at left-back while Hume is out injured.
Any combo of Wright/Willis/Flamners in the middle Replace Power with Sanderson.
Make sure our midfield/wingbacks offer defensive support/cover.
then get more players scoring more fecking goals.

Would just like to make an observation regarding many comments regarding O’Brien.
First he is not the most gifted of players ever to play as a forward for S/land.
However he is far from a donkey that many would have him.
While not a speed merchant he manages to make and anticipate runes down BOTH channels for 90 mins.
His touch(es) keepy up shoulder, foot, shoulder ending with a 1st. class lay off to McG. gor Wykes goal was in a word sublime.
As said he runs the channels and often comes short with good retention and lay offs.
Not counting good defensive work on corners against us - l really think folk are not seeing his excellent contributions - but l know one who does -
WYKE. Soooo much pressure is now off his shoulders, Wykes all round game has come on leaps and bounds.
Thank you for your patience. :emoticon-0110-tongu

I reckon not being at games and only seeing the rather poor one camera only shots of whoever is responsible for them, means we do not see a lot of what the players do.
Obviously we see them on the ball, but we miss a lot.

Hard to judge team and players on lousy camera work.

Not knowing who they will be playing alongside game after game has to contribute towards the shaky displays we see from them. LJ needs to get a settled back four for everyone’s sake.

Keeper nervous about his defence or defence nervous about the keeper, it’s a bit chicken and egg for me.

"RR: Overall, how do you view this particular piece of business by Sunderland?

GB: Given the fact he is a free agent, it has to be viewed as a shrewd bit of business given that he was our number one keeper and we finished just outside the play-offs.

However, some of the reason we failed to reach the play-offs is down to some of his errors."

Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself. It does have that habit.
