Whoa.! Just reading up the thread. Do you people not listen out for comments at all.? OK, I'll inform: Last night, during the latter part of the game, Adam Blackmore said he would ask Ron about Gaston, because he was playing very well. After the game Ron said Gaston is part of yhe squad and will play on occasion like any other player. It is up to him to get better. Now granted MKDs are just the right type of opposition, but it's a fairly tortured road Gaston has to travel - injuries, not playing, no confidence, manager needing convincing, several players in front of him, etc... So if Ron can be open minded the least we can be is open minded too.
Sounds naff if described, but 6-0 up away from home, it was entertaining, stupid and funny, all rolled into one. You need to see a decent video. Lots of people were filming it. DTLWs doesn't do it justice. A location gag, I believe.
But does that mean we could play that way against a better opposition? As usual its a balance between how good we were and how bad the MK were.
11 minutes of excellent, HD highlights now up on the Player. The site has had a complete update with a change in the video format and is now finally worth the £4.99 a month. The highlights showed a bit more than just the goals, including some excellent chances for Cedric, Romeu, and Davis (!). Jay Rod looks to be getting back to something approaching his best, while Gastòn shows a few tricks to his potential suitors. He did well last night by the looks of it though.
Problem is though, the highlights are also on YouTube. Why pay the money, when you get the content for free?
The YouTube clip is only 1:41 long, whereas the Player highlights are 11 minutes. There will also be extended highlights up soon, with Adam and Dave's radio commentary edited in.
MK Dons were awful. We played at a good level with the players we had. No point comparing Dons in any way to a prem team.
Interesting, that's a slightly different edit from the one on the Player too. I'm completely confused now! Thanks for posting it anyway!
Great shooting from long, 9 minutes in the highlights and the whole stand behind the goal is empty, except for the ball boy who Shane picks out with his shot. Pretty crappy turnout by MK fans though
Tell you what after watching that: I just can't wait for JayRod to come back into the starting lineup; he looks the part again. Vin
Listened on Solent then waited up for the CH5 highlights, I now know the 5 is for 5 knuckle shufflers. how can they excuse the minute or so coverage we had?
Everyone in the entire universe supports either Tottenham, Arsenal, or Chelsea. There is no football outside London apart from Liverpool and Manchester.
He did look 'on it' . He still has some work to do though and hopefully this was a sign that the old Jayrod is in there bursting to get out.
That was all very interesting from last night. 1] There ended up with no live feed. 2] The Sky highlights that Footballorgin copied were about 1m41s. 3]When everyone was going to bed there was a 3m36s approx set of highlights put up by Saints on Youtube, and 4] finally we have the 11+m highlights. I'm a bit peeved because I signed into Saints Player last night, got the welcome message, tried to watch some highlights and was told my subscription had expired when I have it on a annual direct debit, so I don't know what they're doing with that. Does one have to renew the terms every 3 years or something.?
In CH5's build up I wondered whether we'd get a mention. After all, 6 goals must be worthy of something. But no. Zero. Guess not one of the goals had a 44 pass manoeuvre about it. It's bad enough from BBC, Sky and BT Sport, but this is what happens when a channel that doesn't normally broadcast any sport starts to transmit sport. They just do the headline clubs and totally ignore the others. Even Newcastle's nightmare failed to be mentioned, except in passing, like ours and several others. Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal, etc, all got headlines.
