He should have taken the game more seriously right from the start. It's been said he was concentrating on next Saturday. It shows that a manager must take one game at a time. It could affect their league form, which is pretty damn poor anyway.
All I remember from Nigel being sacked was that 90% of the fans got over it even before the media howls got going. Then, according to everyone bar Saints fans, we were in turmoil. When they eventually started asking us we said oh dear, never mind, we'll get on with it.
Apparently Mané was applauded off by both sets of supporters. Classy from the MK fans and good to hear. By all accounts he was unplayable tonight.
Karl Robinson said to the media post-match that he found himself applauding some of our play tonight. Said we're a classy side who are impressive and we can win the competition, apparently.
Yes, I downloaded those highlights earlier thinking to watch them in best quality. Nice but at 1m40s, not exactly highlights, just goals. Still, better than a kick in the head.
That seems rather harsh. We put a pretty strong side out there, not necessarily starters but certainly Premier League standard. Against a League 1 side. Robinson SHOULD be concentrating on his league matches; we would be to if we were battling relegation. And as a newly promoted side playing at their highest level ever, you can't even blame them much for not doing well. It's never fun to lose 6-0, even when it's a match you were always likely to lose anyway. But instead of blowing a gasket, he paid us a nice compliment. It feels rather unsporting to throw that back in his face like "No, it wasn't so much us, you just sucked." Especially when the criticism is more apt when applied to us and the way we embarrassed ourselves in Europa League.
Someone must have a better video of this. It went on for about 15 minutes and the earlier versions with the whole corner singing were very funny.
Never thought I would see Ramirez play again....nice that he was involved in a goal as well. Presumably Ron is just giving him a run out to save someone else....or has he done a complete volte face and plans to use him. Unlikely I would think.
Gaston looked good last night. I even saw him win a couple of tackles and make an interception. The games was perfect for him really. I don't think its the start of a re-birth, which is a shame as he can be majestic. I'll keep him filed in my "I got that one wrong" tin,
I had high hopes for him for a while. He had one really good game against Villa just after he joined and then he flattered to deceive after that.
If he is not going to leave and is fully fit then we may as well use him. Apart from not leaving when we would prefer him too, he doesn't seem to be any bother and is good practice for the physio.
So no Pelle tonight. Did we play in a different way? I know the quality of the opposition makes it difficult to make a proper comparison but we looked pretty fluent nonetheless (assuming the goal highlights were representative of the game as a whole).
You can see that he needs to adapt to the English game as Ron has mentioned a few times, but last night I could notfault him for effort, plus he fitted well to the style we were playing last night with the front 4 of him with Long, Jay and Sadio. I thought the movement of the front 4 was excellent with Davis having a very good game behind. Will give Ron a few decisions to make as with Long as the front man, he was on the move all the time, and the MK defenders could not cope with the movement from the front 4. I know it will be a lot tougher against Swansea, but still promising to see. As for Juanmi, I think he will get there and remember very young and needs to learn English ASAP, which will help massively.
I was mainly listening to Adam Blackmore on Radio Solent and the R5L summariser on the Net in the background. The R5L summariser said it could easily have been 10 or more, so make of that what you will. Blackmore said we were cruising and that it looked like a training game after 2-0. Stekelenburg barely had a save to make. From the radio commentary, it appears we were very pacy indeed and MKDs couldn't cope with that or our all-round play.
