Burke
Honeyman
Magennis
with Smallwood coming up fast on the rails ...

Great game from Magennis today, ditto Smallwood. Eaves looked miles better when he came on, needs to keep that kind of performance up.

Smallwood really ought to be getting on these lists. He does so much good stuff but it is so uncomplicated and controlled that it looks easy. Smallwood never seems rushed, even though he hasn't got great pace. He allows Honeyman to play. That's a major difference to last season. Honeyman ran all the time then but he was constantly trying to be everywhere. Now he has a much clearer role and focus.

Smallwood and Ingram both unsung heroes so far this season, like you say RS does the basics keeps us ticking over and allows others to play, Ingram brings a calm head to the back 5 and we don't **** ourselves on crosses anymore!! Leadership such an underrated quality, but makes a huuuuge difference

Called it during the game and will say it again ..

No.1 Smallwood.. keeps it simple .. does the dirty work .. and knits things together .. did a captains job yesterday

2. Burke .. amazing how much better he looks when not paired alongside De Wijs .. looks like he relishes being the leader back there with Greaves

3. Jones .. tbh all 3 midfielders did well despite being somewhat overrun at times in the second half .. but while gorgeous George will take the majority of plaudits thought Jones should get a mention .. again did the scruffy stuff well.

Tbh was a decent team performance with one slight criticism.. for me personally when we were getting overrun second half we needed an extra set of legs in the middle of the park .. could quite easily of cost us .. little more proactive please Grant.
