When we signed him he was injured which is why he didn't start immediately.
He came on for 30 against West Brom for Hugo. I thought our attacking threat when down when Hugo came off which says a lot.
Apparently Felix is saying he isn't up to the pace of the PL yet, he is used to playing for a side top of the league and getting plenty of service which he isn't going to get with us. He will have to work a lot harder and track back more playing for us. He wasn't even on the bench against Chelsea.
I hope he is fit for Cardiff. As we desperately need goals! If we don't get a result there we might as get what we can for him as I can't see him wanting to play in the Championship next season.

Interestingly, that day I was watching Soccer Saturday, which I never normally do, and Paul Merson was watching the match. He was completely unimpressed. A through ball was knocked high and long and he said Mitroglu didn't even bother trying to chase it - just looked up and shrugged - as he said at least you make an effort just for the show of the thing.
This worried me. Much as I don't think Merson is a pundit of any standing he is an ex professional and does know how a striker should behave, even if he knows he is chasing a lost cause.

Two goals for the U21s - £6m a throw!
My real concern is the way he looked in the U21 game that followed and when he played the full 90 minutes - not too far from the Merson description that Fulhaman gave in his earlier post.

I read he hit the post tonight against S Korea but the reports are that Greece's display was overall lacklustre.
And there it is, time to call the sweepstake. Who had March 5th down as the day Roscafre lumped Mitroglou in with his previous high-cost (ahem) favourites?
He does have a point though. Like two of the three mentioned Kostas has no Premiership experience. All four joined carrying injuries; the obvious difference being that the other three signed in the summer whereas Kostas was at the end of January.
Maybe the sweepstake should be whether we'll see Kostas play before 1st April?

Hmmm I thought Mitro might be key to our great escape and net 6+ goals in our remaining games. The bookies disagree - you can back him to score 2 or more goals by the end of the season at 10/11 (or 4/5 for him to score less than 2 goals).

Seemed the best place to post this and make an observation that somebody, somewhere in the Club may have demonstrated a distinct lack of judgement.

He told Omroep Friesland, "Fulham knew for weeks that they needed strengthening, and then they came to speak to us only at five minutes to twelve for the man that they want - Finnbogason. They did not want to meet our price. Then they bought the Greek (Kostas Mitroglou) for 15million euros. If they wanted Finnbogason they would have paid our price. We did not play for high stakes."

I suspect that, with relegation and a lack of goals staring us in the face, FFC management had little choice but to roll the dice. Doing nothing would be throwing in the towel on our EPL status; they had to do something. But I doubt they were confidence that this guy from a lessor league was going to light up the EPL like a Christmas tree. The effectiveness of strikers, moving from one league toanother has to be the most unpredictable venture in football.
Who would have thought that Shevchenko, who light up the Serie A for so long, would be a complete flop in the EPL? Who'd have thought Fernando Torres would drop so much in form going from Liverpool to Chelsea ... yet it happened. So while I'm disappointed that Mitroglou hasn't panned out as hoped, I'm not surprised, either. If he was a sure-fire prospect, ManU or Chelsea would have taken him.

I don't think they expected him to be out for as long as he has been. I wouldn't say he's flopped or failed to make the grade at this level, simply he hasn't been fit enough to prove himself one way or the other. As you say, the club had to roll the dice. It's just a shame they didn't go for another striker as well. Then again, if they had, Cauley Woodrow wouldn't have got his chance and we've all been pleased to see him getting gametime.
