Nice. And Dalglish (first time round) and ***an took over already strong title winning teams.

Yep, and taking that into account, BR's not looking too bad even with his rubbish start.

I think Rodgers has done a very good job given the resources he had when he took over. Ever since January (intro of Coutinho and Sturridge), we've been a lot better and I think we'll be in a very good position after 2-3 more transfer windows.

its a thought provoking stat, for me Rodgers is ahead of schedule in terms of taking us back into the top 4 and beyond, when he took over we needed a major reconstruction with the squad and I think he has done a fantastic job in that respect, our transfer dealings are encouraging, not being held to ransom for average players and also keeping hold of Luis and getting rid of the high earning dead wood we had are a world away from the way we conducted business in previous season's.

it's all opinions but for me we are quite some way ahead of where I thought we would be when he 1st took over.

good job so far and seems to be learning all the time :)

I agree - the results on the pitch seem to be improving, but it's the work behind the scenes that have been most impressive. FSG must take credit also - clearing deadwood, reducing wages, increasing revenue streams, work on the stadium etc.

    Yeah agree with that

Average players, I remember when we didnt get Sigurdsson and Dempsey and we were all pissed off but Dempsey now at Seattle Sounders FC and Sigurdsson not rated all that highly at Spurs

  10. I also think it is worth noting that when BR took over you could argue it was "easier" to get points on the board than back in the day. Paisley, ***an, Dalglish and co. took over in a time when it wasn't unfeasible for a less glamorous club to do well such as Wimbledon and Forest etc, hell, even Everton won things <whistle>

Nowadays, it would be unthinkable for a club of Liverpool's stature to be relegated. Finishing between sixth and eighth is the equivalent of a relegation for a club like ours nowadays. When they others took over, it wasn't unknown for a top club to drop down the leagues. Even Fergie at Man Utd finished in the bottom half at the start of his reign, there is no way that would happen nowadays and even if it somehow did, the manager would get sacked pretty sharpish...<whistle>

:D seems like an age ago we were after them now eh
the majority of br signings have been an improvement on what we had before and that's good sign imo.

would be good to see a full list of br signings and do a hit and miss list/poll thing (anyone else not me :D)

  18. Pretty much that. Whenever we do anything well he refuses to accept it and just points to BR's win percentage prior to joining us. MFG has disappeared since the summer <laugh>

    Are you sat down...?

    Working <yikes>

PS...was at a funding launch all day yesterday which is why I didn't appear until later <ok>

    Exactly!!!
