Plastics and fairweather? What if they attend games? Or are they only real fans if they post on a forum?

I'm not saying that you're necessarily guilty, but there are some who come on here giving it large when they're winning titles, etc, and nowhere to be seen when it all starts going tits up.

chelsea fans only post when they have won a game and disappear when they have lost a game, hence the hashtags I used.

I could also have used [HASHTAG]#hubris[/HASHTAG]

If you don't go to games and just post on a forum, then you are the plastic. You do know that?

I have a pair of Arsenal season tickets, and have been going to watch them since the 1960's so not plastic in any way.

What's your cedentials ?

I'm not a season ticket holder and get to games when I can. Normally about 15 a season. Don't count myself as a plastic fan and obviously you're not one either. Equally though, posting on a forum doesn't make you some kind of superfan. Just saying. <ok>

Dont take it to heart blueman as its only banter, some of your fellow chavs aren't as ardent a poster as you - hence they are plasticfans and fair weather supporters

I like Blueman. I like a lot of those Chelsea boys.

(Does that sound gay?)

After the rimming you gave Mourinho and crawling up CFC:FFP backside, I think your feelings towards Chelsea's men folk are pretty clear HIAG.

To me, a plastic is the same as a glory hunter, a fan who only supports a club because they're successful and whose loyalty is likely to waiver once the success stops.

They also tend to have a basic knowledge of the game.

A bit like all the plastic Rugby 'fans' who turn up at Twickenham singing that bloody stupid negro spiritual! Most of them have never played the game, know **** all about it, and wouldn't know the difference between a ruck and a maul. Yet, somehow the stadium is half full of these ****ers every time England play. <grr>

Ok, rant over!....

Unfortunately that is so true of the Rugby as they are there for the event not because of the match

So there is only 40,000 real Chelsea fans in the world? Give or take a few.
No not at all. We can't physically get more than that in the ground, its like saying Man United only have 76,000 fans when we know that's not the case.
The real point I'm trying to make is that not posting on a forum doesn't make you a plastic.

I know mate but as I say, what if they attend games?

I've become a plastic West Ham fan over the years, I didn't used to be one, I used to go and see the dirge served up at UP in the late 80's and early 90's. If it was truly awful we used to ignore it and just dance around the terrace singing (like the FA cup semi v Forest when we lost 4-0)
Then they said I had to sit down on a chair and actually watch it, havn't been since
