You get up at 5 everyday....fook that! I used to do that everyday when I was working in London. That was ok when I was young, but once I got older, I knocked it on the head, it was fooking killing me with the commute as well.

No obligation at all for children to fast. I know this because I had to deal with this in my role at school. Had to get advice from all the imams at the local mosques because in was a July heatwave and we had 8/9/10 year olds fainting. The imams were quite clear it was no they shouldn't! Tbf the parents also didn't want the kids doing it. It was more the kids themselves lol.

    Funny you should say that

theres a chapter in the Koran specifically for Athletes and Footballers in particular

seriously though, no exceptions...why should their be? We are talking about religion...sport is secondary

I can't remember which tournament it was recently (WC2014 or Euros 2016) where whole bunch of players were playing in the heat. Cannot begin to imagine how the fck they managed that in the middle of summer.

Not being rude Trebs, but that's not quite true to say Muslims can't, some chose not to, for whatever reasons, I've known quite a few muslims that don't follow it like you and Spurly, and yeah there are ones that do of course. Although the elder generation (parents) generally would.

I always thought water was allowed if dehydration was causing a problem but as you say up to the individuals
I remember one guy I worked with said he couldn't chew gum during daylight hours

Out of curiosity what happens if you are hypoglycaemia, that's where your blood sugar is affected by not eating?

Well yeh... if you're dehydrating and about to collapse and go into a coma or summnt I'd imagine God won't mind if you have a drink. But then your fast is broken. No biggee though because you couldn't help it. Just say a few Hail Marys and all's good... sorry wrong religion, Hail Miriums <cheers>

That is tough especially in the Middle East in the middle of summer
Is there a reason it is not the same time each year ie in the middle of winter
