Missile Battery

Are they putting them on roofs in the Wembley area? If so then it'll give Drogba and Suarez a good excuse for all that diving they'll be doing on Saturday

COCKNEYS will be launched from the top of a tower block if someone attacks the Olympics, it has been confirmed.

'Keep looking at the eel'

The Ministry of Defence said the rocket-propelled geezers will have a range of five miles and be told that any rogue planes entering Olympic airspace have insulted their lovely old mum.

A spokesman said: "We understand residents will be concerned about having a live cockney on the roof but the weapons will be controlled by a handler armed with tranquiliser-laced mashed potato.

"We will only unleash the cockneys as a last resort, unless of course we grow sick of them and just fire them directly into the ground."

The MoD has been testing market stall traders on Dartmoor, where local people have reported a loud 'CAAAHHHNNNT!', whenever a cockney is launched from a catapult.

Early prototypes were unstable and often kicked off for no discernible reason, forcing engineers to try and hypnotise them with a live eel.

Bow resident Roy Hobbs said: "I bought this flat in the hope the area would become a gentrified haven of antique fairs and artisan bakeries, so I am peeved at the notion of a battery of tattooed cockneys on my roof.

"Surely it's better that the Olympics are attacked and everyone dies?"

I think the ground to air missile thing is based on what happened with th eplanes on 9/11 rather than anything else

Not 100% certain but am sure if at the annual terrorist get together a guy mentions using planes as missiles he will get bitch slapped

They look pretty badass <ok>

This is not the first time that a missile defence has been used at an Olympic games, and it won't be the last time. And it's easy to see why they might be needed, the world is full of nutters. But there can be getting away from the fact that if a battery goes onto that suburban roof, those living under it are less safe than if it wasn't there.

Maybe the residents should all get together and demand to be housed in a 5 star hotel for the duration of the exercise.

Don't start this again...

1. If the missile site is there, armed police and soldiers will be on guard to protect it. = SAFER

2. If there is a plane/drone/hot air balloon attack then the missile site will take it down. = SAFER

3. If by chance terrorists find a way of blowing it up, even though it is designed to take out airborne attacks and is heavily guarded, then maybe it would cause damage to the people living in the building. = potentially NOT SAFER (but with a ridiculously low chance of it happening)

Please give me more examples of why it doesn't make it safer?

One of the army guards could be a Paddy and being as thick as **** he might have an accident while polishing his big shiny missile launcher.

A long shot I know but still possible. <ok>

How the **** would terrorists fire a missile in the UK?

Just get Mick the White Van Man to do it!

It's all rather simple Toby, a (but with a ridiculously low chance of it happening) is not safer than if it wasn't there in the first place.

But the armed guards and the fact that it takes out any airborne attacks makes the area safer though

If it wasn't there the building could be hit by a plane, and the extra police will deter crime in the area.

I don't really care enough to bother arguing about this much longer, I just don't think it's a threat to people living there. <ok>
