A risk for the price tag I thought. Would have liked him but over a million for a conference player?
Craig Reid was a regular scorer for Newport, 58 goals in 96 games , many in Confernece South (not as prolific as Vardy I grant you). He signed for Stevenage for about £200k and has scored 9 times in 49 games in Divs. 1 & 2.
I rest my case. Vardy a gamble at £1m rising to £1.7m. If going for a lower league player I would prefer someone with recent Football League experience as a more accurate measure of ability.

I dont think we have missed out on much there, where on earth though will he fit in at Leicester given the amount of strikers they already have ?
£1,000,000 for a conference player? Big big gamble by Leicester. Hope they fall flat on their arses now there's a danger of them over inflating the market with more purchases like this one!
Jeez, I just read on WOL we bid a million! Now I am a tad annoyed, don't really want us to go down that route. If the guy is that good why haven't the premier clubs gone in for him?
I saw Fleetwood Town at Forest Green Rovers and they looked far from being a Conference side. I thought they wouldn't look out of place in League 1, and Vardy looked a class act within that team. I actually think Leicester may have a bargain. Still, as already pointed out, we probably don't have that sort of money to gamble.
