For some time now, we haven't had midfield players who are comfortable on the ball. Those we have cannot play a passing game with each other. They get rid of the ball far too quickly - usually in a sideways or backward direction because of a lack of vision. In Pack's case he doesn't even get rid of it quickly enough and scares me to death on times.
Whatever anyone says about progress, we are still a long ball based team and just use our midfield to destroy rather than create. Both Wilson and Tomlin have the ability but not like minded support around them. I'm definitely not for passing for the sake of it, but the constant aerial attempts to find Moore's head from distance is depressing.
To change the mindset at the club we need both the manager and players. I really hope we've got the manager, but we definitely haven't got the players - Wilson is wasted playing in this set up.
