So Matt Williams joins town as new chief executive. a positive move and my understanding is a pre season home game against blackpool is on the cards.

there is a strong rumour linking us with storey, on loan to swindle. i do not know of him apart from he is a conference club striker. any thoughts.

i have written to the star online suggesting some urgent things that the chairman and chief exec need to consider.

Storey was one of the better loanees (more of an attacking midfielder than a striker) and did well back at Swindon after we got him fit. Would prefer him as a permanent signing as the article said they would listen to offers. Wescarr is available from Walsall and is just the experienced type we need up front. Lets get the manger situation sorted pronto and start signing some players for next season.

I doubt any will fall into place but Westcarr and Lopez/Storey would be good, would still like another battle hardened wily striker to join in addition to that!

Williams, who ran Blackpool's media and commercial departments, was at the club for more than 12 years.
Town manager Mike Jackson worked with Williams when he played at Blackpool for two seasons, prior to joining Shrewsbury, first as a player, in 2008.
Jackson is keen to stop on following Town's relegation back to League Two. Jackson's number two Andy Morrell was also on the Blackpool playing staff in Jackson's time at Bloomfield Road.

Perhaps Jacko is staying on...

Matster,
Are we replacing the Hereford connection with the Blackpool connection? That presumably means we will only be able to sign players who have played for Blackpool. Tom Ince anyone?

talking of wily old foxes, i would be happy if the hereford connection manager returned. he is still imo a brilliant L2 manager, and there may be moves behind the scenes in this connection.

towns coat of arms. -i am trying to establish from the town council and the mayor if there is any copyright on it. i have been researching its association with the borough and have found the following.

1974 ancient borough became shrewsbury and atcham council now made way for shrewsbury town council
1896 shropshire co adopt loggerheads with shrewsbury
1690 king william of orange notes loggerheads on town's coat of arms are leopards heads
15th century towns coat of arms and loggerheads 1st mentioned, but origins of loggerheads unknown, except loggerheads were an old heraldic emblem representing leopards heads. much of this info is on wiki.

i cannot believe there is any copyright on the coat of arms, after so many changes to council structure.

there is a meeting at the club on may 14th to discuss possible re brand and looking again at the badge.

floreat salopia!
