Not miracle stage yet but even with Harry, I won't feel comfortable until we show some evidence we can score more than a goal. That's a miracle in itself at the moment. Our only chance to win is if we don't concede, which is puts a ridiculous demand on our shaky defence.
I can understand the sentiments in the OP. Things don't look good. The effort was there today. It's not the end of the world if we go down. Based on the performances since Harry has arrived, I would be very confident of us coming straight back up again although I can see a big change in personnel.
Ciarrai we must keep on thinking that Harry will work his magic with 23 games to go with a possible 69 points to aim for we will only need maybe 36 points to be safe. Chin up we are QPR
Last season I managed to stay positive mainly but I am just too depressed at the moment to believe we can actually do it. Yet again we were the 'nearly' team, just like the Reading game. I fear it is too little too late. I am bemused that a man of Fernandes' indisputable business acumen should have allowed the winless streak to continue for so very long before taking action. One can never say but I think the Reading and Soton game would have been in the bag with Harry at the helm. I am equally certain (ie not completely) that we would have lost today with MH at the helm, Just very sad and feeling let down after the promise of a bright future.
May be wrong but I thought Adel was playing deeper today. He didn't shoot at all and seemed to have been told to pass instead.
Potentially..... If we win against Wigan and Southampton beat Reading, we'll be point level with Reading. So no, of course it's not an impossible task, seeing as we lost M'bia and Diakite and we hit the post twice. What you need in a situation like this is hope. Harry's first two games have resulted in 2 points, for a new manager in a struggling team I'd like to think that's very good, especially by our bad luck.
Was just trying to lighten things up a little - both are likely playing at their level in the Championship.
No problem with hope, but those 2 points gained against the worst 2 teams I have seen this season. All is still possible but we will have to be significantly better than today to have any chance. As long as 95% of our crosses go nowhere near the danger zone we aren't doing ourselves any favours.
------Games played------Points Harry -----2--------------2 Leslie------14-------------4 Harry will do it he just needs some time. Leslie had entire summer to make us play good and Harry only one week. I'm sure he doesn't know player names yet
I'm sure Harry will do better than Hughes. But he won't be playing Villa every week, one of the most anonymous, least ambitious teams around. Still we have a decent run of games until Christmas, but we have to finish the few chances we make - just watched Defoe and Michu, really clinical.
Yes I'm well aware of our scoring (dis) ability but I think Harry needs some time to sort out the Hughes sh*t and lack of strikers will not help us ceirtanly. I will start to worry if we don't win the next game
This post sums up our play exactly. Good post Flyer. I had the pleasure of sitting next to SussexR and Judo today. Sussex said practically the same thing.
I really havnt seen anything to say we will score goals and win games....We have one recognised striker that looks off the ball, moody and doesnt even get on the pitch!...
