Minutes silence

With it being a personal thing for you I can see your point, I just think that it needs to be made clear or you'll get some idiot booing thinking that it's for Thatcher, I suppose a simple announcement at the start of the silence will do but if the announcement says something about Thatcher aswell then what will the fans do? This is why I think it needs to be clear before the silence is announced on the day.

For me the silence is a personal thing, its about taking a minute to remember 96 fans from our club who should still be with us today and for me to remember one person in particular who I miss badly still to this day. I couldn't give two ****s what Madjeski thinks tbh We can chant for the rest of the year but for me the minutes silence is important.

This but not just for the 96, it is also about remembering the others that suffered that day, people with long term physical or mental problems, the and victims friends and families. It is much much more than 96 IMO but one thing is clear in my mind, nobody beyond the highlighted are involved in those thoughts

Edit: obviously, I was talking from an outsiders view point. I don't have a personal involvement like yourself

IF there is an Official announcement at Reading linking the Hillsborough silence with Thatcher then we should honour it impeccably. At the end of the silence we should then chant JF96 followed by a rendition of Ding Dong The Witch is Dead.

Easy for me as I won't be there. However, I will observe the silence for the 96.

I think everyone going to the game will respect the minute's silence - given the statement from the club about it being for Hillsborough and not Thatcher.

If, however, Reading try some PR brown nosing and tag 'and Thatcher' to the end of the announcement, I would expect a chorus of ding dong the witch is dead to echo out shortly after the minute. Let it be clear we will stand by our own for that minute and only our own, not for that bitch.

I can't see why they would even consider it to be honest. Even if you think Thatcher was a great PM, visionary leader, blah blah blah, why should football care? AFAIK the politicians didn't have a minute's silence or organised remembrance when Busby, Shankly, Moore etc passed away, so why should there be a football tribute to her? Football remembers people connected with football, let the politicians remember people connected with politics.

Like is said if reading chairman wants to mess round then hammer his side into the championship with 7 or 8 goals... the murdoch media would love to paint peopel in a light so any positive response is good.
