We could say NotDistant that we have never witnessed a manager who motivates a team so well, can read the game well and knows exactly what to change when things arn't working. Players who play with heart and passion and never give up .... but then again I was brought up not to tell lies.
Today's silence was impecably performed. At least the next 90+ minutes were not so silent this time and with good reason.
What do you find distasteful Westermac...........that I was glad to see that PAFC held a minutes silence........having lived on RAF Stations for the first 15 years of my life and having done 2 years National Service as well....I have been taught respect for those that have given the ultimate for their country.

Yeah, blah blah, but Remembrance Day? The minute's silence? Not something to drag into something as trivial as football is it? And you did it, not me....
I think you guys are making something out of nothing to be perfectly honest with you. I don't believe Plym was being the slightest bit disrespectful, if I thought he was I'd be the first to jump on him (no not that way!) as I am a staunch supporter of our armed forces. Most of my facebook wall if made up of supportive comments and forces charities. I have 2 sons currently serving and my favourite charity is the Help for Heroes. Please leave Plym alone unless you are going to pick on him for something he is guilty of.
It's a good job you never lived on my messdeck notdistant. Black humour, and I do mean black was compulsory. This hardly ranks as a shade of grey really. I bet any money if you spent a day on the ward in one of the hospitals that treat patients with less than the normal number of limbs you would be shocked to your socks at what is said. It's not disrespectful it is a way of life. There was a bloke at Argyle a few matches ago who had one arm left and no legs. He had apparently cycled around the UK and he did a lap of honour at halftime. He got a rapturous round of applause and I have to say I was touched by his guts and determination to carry on life. Not sure I could be that strong. I'll bet he cracks funnies from time to time at himself with his mates and I'll bet his mates do the same at him. It's part of being normal.
Sorry, I really feel it was a remark in very poor taste that did not need to be made. My opinion, but I thought it trivialised the Remembrance Day silence that, now, as ever, should never be demeaned. In my mess, sensible, we had a saying, 'engage brain before starting tongue in motion.'. Black humour was abundant also; I suspect it is when people are dying around you, it's a mechanism for coping; however, some subjects were not considered suitable.

Just for the sake of clarity, it isn't about who said it, it's entirely about what was said. I might find Plymborn to be an irritating tit but I will defend his right to be an irritating tit. I'll defend Surfer's right to be a complete plonker because basically, every Argyle fan will have different opinions - no problem. (Steel Numbnuts is excluded because he is not an Argyle fan, is a pathetic little WUM and a sad troll who really should be taken into care for his own well-being.)

I'm sure everyone would agree with that Westernmac although I think in this instance it has been taken out of context somewhat. Just an off the cuff remark on what has been Argyle's demise over recent years coupled with an annual occasion is all. I doubt very much there was any attempt to belittle Rememberance Day or what it stands for. Plym is a big boy so I'm sure he can stand a bit of stick all on his own.
You might have hoped that supporters of PAFC would be particularly thoughtful about this: nearly 1,200 Plymouthian civilians were killed in bombing and 4,500 wounded. No doubt there were a disproportionate number of military casualties with local links too, in Devonport based warships on top of the toll suffered generally.
If we're talking about free speech, I'm disturbed to see some kid has been arrested for posting a picture of a burning poppy. I don't know the rest of the circumstances but in itself, that seems to be a valid political statement, well executed. I don't agree with it necessarily but free speech should apply.
Dragging negative opinions about PAFC into Remembrance seems pretty worthless by comparison.

Jeez will you lot lighten up .... for a start Remembrance Day was on Sunday 11th not Saturday 10th at a football match and I am sure Plymborn observed the one minute's silence at the appropriate time.... I lost family and good friends in WWII, Ireland, Falklands Iraq ...... did I feel offended by what Plymborn said ..... most definately not ...... his comment about Argyle may have been a tad early because although at this present moment in time in my opinion its dying slowly, it isnt dead yet !
Mountains and molehills spring to mind....I think it is personal and aimed at Plym because it was his statement. Westernmac, the clue was in your "tit" comment. This has nothing to do with disrespecting the war dead and everything to do with Plym irritating the bollocks off both yourself and Distant.
