Have to say, I can't see why everyone is having a pop at Roberts now. Do we always have to have someone to slag off? Until now Dykes was the easy target. Before his injury a couple of years ago nobody had a good word to say about Amos. As long as it continues to work does it really matter who scores the goals? We're doing alright and I am quite enjoying our football at the moment.
Couldn't agree more! Winning 2-0 away at a tough place, what's it matter who scores the goals?!

Another look at the Willock goal shows just how good it was, from Seny out to Jimmy, Steff waving him forward, crisp passing all along the floor, into the back of the net in less than 20 seconds......... lovely football....

It was also a lovely pass from Chair. He didn't play it directly into feet, but instead, slipped it into Willock's right hand side so that he could turn and take it in his stride.
Lovely goal.

Thought I'd pop on and have a read, as there's a small debate on our forum (friday breakfast chat)with regard Roberts, seems like as with us he's dividing opinion.
What you lads think of him on the whole?

Seems to be dividing opinion too. Clearly a talented player but I think he’s had too few minutes on the pitch to really reach a fair opinion

Seems like a decent player but he's not what we lack, which is a number 9 who's a natural finisher.

I’m not sure we can judge him fairly as it’s too early and we all believe he is being played out of position

The one thing no one can seem to phathom is, what is his best position, he never got a run of games in a settled position but where to play him is the problem

I like him, he’s obviously a talented player, and in a couple of games shown glimpses in link up and movement which are a cut above for this league. But he can’t shoot for toffee, and if we had a fully functioning number 9 he wouldn’t get in our starting 11 with Chair and Willock on current form, which is amazing really.

So same as everyone else, confused.

I remember seeing him play for Walsall when on loan from West Brom and he was the same there, obvious talent but his shooting was atrocious, even though at that young age he was head and shoulders above most in that league, you'd think he'd hit the target more often.

So can you play a front 3 of 3 no10s, and be successful?
For any chance of it working, you'd have to be a ball playing team, no hoof, Man City got away with it but who else can call on that quality of talent though.

Do you think that that was Beale’s first choice line up? I think poor old Dykes has left him little choice given that he has zero confidence. I don’t think Armstrong is ready for this league yet, or certainly not to start. That leaves Bonne, and I have no idea where his head is at. It worked really well for the performance at Wall, interesting to see whether he sticks with it tomorrow.

Yeah, 10 is what I'd say but think his feet are too quick for his brain.
Don't you think he was a bit of a scapegoat for Leeds. When Bamford was out injured and Rodrigo wasn't on form, they looked to Roberts for the goals. He isn't that sort of player as you know. He's a busy player with good movement, he likes to try get involved in the build ups. I personally am glad we have got him for the season, especially after last year when both our creative sparks were missing and we were crying out for someone like him.

He looks like as good a back up for Willock we are likely to get now.
