Alex Neil worked out all of our defensive weaknesses and then exploited them all. One win in 10 says it all. Pathetic.
That was pretty awful Not helped, once again, by some utterly bizarre refereeing - eg clearly 2m30s delay at that corner in extra time, but only 45 seconds added
4 points from a possible 18. Not sure if it’s managers incompetence or the lack of motivation by the players . A mixture of both?
The buck stops with the Head Coach. I'm trying to avoid thinking about where this 'transition' is going to be in two year's time. We're now 7 points above relegation.
We went from flirting with top 6 to dropping like a brick , our best players are not suspenjured & if the season went on another few games i wouldn't back them to survive , too many gutless surrenders. Most clubs would probably sack the head coach but as we are a selling club reliant on the academy I imagine we'll sell Sainz Sargent possibly Nunez & give Thorup another half season minimum. McLean will probably move on , hopefully Duffy gets released . This has probably been one of the worst seasons in the last decade we appear to be going backwards
If I’m being really generous, it feels a bit like Farke’s first season. Except we haven’t had a cup run and Maddison’s sensational breakthrough. I agree with Dunc, that we will probably give Thorup until c.December
Farke put loads of 1-0 0-0 1-1 results on the board , it was boring but there was a style of play that got a few points . The second season he built on that defensive work ethic & produced free flowing attacking plays. This side has been defensively weak all season but now they just fold like a Temu lawn chair pretty much every game. I hoped we may get a few backs to the wall defensive gritty hard fought 1-0 score lines but , it looks like tippy tappy fannying around until we inevitably give away possession cheaply & watch the opposition pass through paper cut out defenders . It's embarrassing & Thorup clearly has no idea how to stop it. Groundhog day for the last few months
