I thought we were poor today. There were too many missed passes and the defence looked weak. If our forwards had got into the positions carved out for the Millwall forwards , they would have scored a hatful, if you see what I mean! With two good strikers Millwall would have walked that.
i agree we was not bossing it not sure what the final count was for shots but norwich was over 20 we was about 10
I thought the Boro game was huge, but I think the Forest one is gigantic and a potential fail. But if we get a result there I think we are all but up.
We are not up until we finish in the top 2 after the last match . Everyone assumes that one team will falter. That may not happen. Meanwhile, a view from the States: http://prosoccertalk.nbcsports.com/...orwich-watford-boro-separated-by-two-points/?
Agreed NZ, although as I stated earlier, I think all the top four may well win on the last day, so unless it is that tight on GD, I think the positions with one game to go will be crucial.
The pessimistic way to look at our last 4 games: Forest, we have a mixed record there and they could be dangerous with no pressure on them. Brum, look what they almost did at Bournemouth. Brighton, their last home game of the season and on Sky, they'll want to finish on a high. Wednesday, another team with nothing to play for and there is the possibility the tension could get to the players, although that last part could apply to any of the matches.
None of the last 4 games will be easy for any team. We just have to cross our fingers that we can match the results of the others and that if Bournemouth do not slip up - I think they wont - that we can get that extra goal over Norwich (sorry Dave)
i think matty likes to be the no 1 striker as he thinks he is and not one of 4 as he is at the moment .And im sure he is not happy being rotated or played out of what he thinks is his position .And all of this is maybe not a bad thing .But if they start to show disrespect to the manager club or the fans like mr dyer then i dont care how good they are i for one dont want them here
http://www.newsatden.co.uk/47600-millwall-midfielder-upson-rejects-watford-dive-claim.html? I think it's time some of these so-called professional players read the rules of the game - nowhere do they mention 'contact' as even being deserving of a free kick, let alone a penalty.
BB, I think the concept of 'contact' is largly media generated. It's usually the so called experts who say that if there is contact they are 'entitled' to go down. However, I have detected a slightshift this season with a few of these same so called experts now qualifying this by saying that there now needs to be enough contact to make them go down. There is nothing in the laws about how much contact there should or shouldn't be and players will always milk it. Personally, I didnt think is was a pen on Saturday and neither did the guest in the FLS studio. Anywhere else on the pitch itwould not have been given. Indeed, there was less contact than when a full back shepherds the ball into touch by shoving his backside into the opposition player or in the penalty area whenever a corner is taken Infact, I'm quite amazed that there is a whole story devoted to this decision.
You're probably right - but it would be nice if the players could actually show that they know what they are talking about & this one doesn't. I wonder how they would react if referees started applying Law 12 'to the letter of the law' - especially the part that quite clearly says holding an opposition player is an offence. Every corner kick, every set piece delivered into the penalty area, they all ignore it...
Or if the refs started applying the laws on foul and abusive language properly. Every game would be abandoned...
I did notice that when Abdi came on, within a few minutes we had control of the ball, and suddenly we started to string passes together which had not happened very much up until then. What a difference he makes when fit.
