I haven't seen the 2 penalties, but the Millwall players seemed angry with the ref. Were they nailed on pens, or were there questions?
First penalty appears to be nailed on, but second penalty sounds very questionable. Lots of people, including the Solent commentators at the time, saying that we handled the ball (possibly Hooiveld) not Millwall. If so, then it would explain Millwall's complaints.
Merrington just said that the second pen was a definate handball, apparently the guy punched the ball. I didn;t hear about the first pen though.
Only 157 users browsing this thread at the moment. Not very exciting, obviously! Can you see the light? Can you see the light?!!!!!!!!
From what I heard, 1st Pen was stonewall, 2nd was definitly a handball but from a Saints player. But I have no proof for the 2nd one just from what I heard.
Just seen goals on Sky. Described as 2 stonewall penalties, but Millwall deserved to win the game. These are the games you need to win...ManU have been doing this for years.
Yeah the guys on Solent didn't seem convinced by the second one, but maybe they just didn't see it right, will wait to have a look myself.
Merson said it was a Saints hand initially but then said, 'I need to get glasses, don't know why Millwall are protesting.'
Both pens!!! Just shown goals on Final Score, Lambert clearly brought down (claridge disagrees though), Millwall bloke punched the ball.
Just want to apologise to everyone. I wasn't wearing my lucky saints shirt til about 60 minutes in, hence the nerves. Lesson learnt.
It was my fault for saying we would win the title. I have had a lesson in humility and am willing to concede that we just MIGHT finish second.
Our favourite west ham supporting talksport presenter isn't too happy with the amount of penalties we've had this season (this is the guy who was was tweeting Billy Sharp after Matt Taylor lashed out at him, and refused to accept that Taylor was in the wrong) https://twitter.com/#!/Moose_talkSPORT
Merson is a waste of space - he was commenting on the game for sky sports. He cant pronounce players names properly. he said lallana set up lambert for the 1st goal - then after game realised it was sneiderlin but calls him senderlin. said at first it was hoiveldt that scored the own goal and then that it was a saints handball for the penalty before changing his mind to 2 stonewall saints penalties. He struggles with lallana too. Unbelievable Jeff
