For a team without a striker, we did as well as could be expected.
Fair achievement to accumulate as many strikers as we have, none of which can score.

Would like to see Shodipo given a go (and Eze of course).
Huge ask for a couple of youngsters, same as throwing Oteh on tonight, not exactly a game for a raw kid.......
Eze could hardly do any worse than the current crop of strikers. Shodipo looked like a real prospect and would offer something different as an out and out left winger.

I think playing Caulker would have helped!!
If i could choose a fit 11 to start it would be back to basics 4-4-2. For starters 2 up top hinders the opposition full backs from marauding forward at will.
I would have smithies
Furlong onohua hall Robinson
Wzolek scowen Luongo Freeman
Washington sylla
Try keep them fit, play them home and away and that is when we will really see some stability!!!
He doesn’t fancy Furlong for some reason but agree with that team more or less. Not Washington who I’ve given up on personally. Sylla and Eze is the future. I still (misguidedly) think Sylla will come good if we stick with him.
I think Sylla looks about as much like a footballer as Cilla Black did.

So back in one piece no thanks to Being Penned in until 10.00pm by Millwall No wonder there is trouble... Holloway also didn't help by stirring up the home crowd.
Match:-we matched them in first half. Bright was good..and had a really decent shot saved. Hall was definitely off the pace. Luongo playing instead of the rat.
Second half they came out better, and Freeman disintegrated, worst performance I have seen from him...he could not pass a ball. The goal was a great cross to the far post..Smithies collided with post and limped through the rest of the match ,( you have been warned for Monday)... We then resorted to hoofball. It would never work...except we got a corner at 90 and Hall had a free header and missed.
Millwall were not good...we were worse.. but wonder what would have happened with Robinson and the Rat...
Cousins was unnoticable ... Freeman was dire.
Bright Samuel looked good...so did Wheeler...Only positive I can say was Ned played well..

I think Washington has had a hard time. I believe he could be a good player at this level but too much of his work is running in the wrong direction towards full backs all because of the way we set up. I would love to see Eze given a chance though
Agree about the strikers. They didn't take the chances they got, but there weren't very many, and they seemed to come before he took off Pawel and then Samuel. After that we played 3 strikers with only Bidwell wide occasionally - basically no width, and Freeman looking tired, so nothing decent was coming through the middle either. Just balls lumped aimlessly straight forward. That was about the worst 20 minutes or so I have seen us play this season.I honestly and seriously don't think the strikers are the problem. In my humble opinion its the service and lack of service from advanced positions that are letting us down and this comes back to this experimental formation he keeps toying with. No advanced wing play, instead we have an average at best left back trying to play the full flank and a potentially very good winger covering the other side but more often in a full back position. We lost and to be honest I thought we would. Until we escape the mentality of playing away in a certain way then it will be just as long before we get another win on the road. In reality what's the difference apart from the crowd that makes someone and not just Holloway change tactics. It's still 11 v11 on a pitch of usual good quality with a ref and 2 linemen.
