Pompey's run of away games continues with a second trip to the capital this week to face Millwall on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
But while on Tuesday night they saw off a Charlton outfit also looking to beat the drop, this next test looks a much more difficult one on paper.
The hosts are currently in third position and looking to close the five-point gap to Middlesbrough in second.
Alex Neil's side were not in midweek action and come into the game on a four-match unbeaten run that includes three victories.
The most recent outing saw them battle from behind to win 2-1 at League One-bound Sheffield Wednesday, courtesy of an own-goal and Macaulay Langstaff strike.
Having finished just outside the play-off positions last term, the Lions look well on course to secure a top-six spot this time around – a feat not acheieved in more than 20 years.
Mihailo Ivanović came off the bench at Hillsborough and Pompey will no doubt keep a close eye on the Serbian striker, who has struck four goals in the past three meetings between the side.
Two of those came in a 2-1 defeat for the Blues at The Den last term, but this season's reverse fixture saw John Mousinho's men emerge 3-1 winners.
Leading marksman Adrian Segečić found the target on that day in November, although the contest will best be remembered for stunning efforts from both Zak Swanson and Jordan Williams.
TEAM NEWS
Pompey will be checking on the fitness of Harvey Blair, who has returned to training following a spell out with a hip problem.
But the visitors' lengthy injury list still includes Aji Alese (quad), Keshi Anderson (hamstring), Florian Bianchini (knee), Conor Chaplin (groin), Andre Dozzell (ankle), Josh Knight (back), Márk Kosznovszky (knee), Hayden Matthews (ankle), Josh Murphy (foot), Conor Shaughnessy (quad), Franco Umeh (hamstring) and Thomas Waddingham (thigh).
Millwall are expected to be without Benicio Baker (groin), Joe Bryan (toe), Lukas Jensen (quad), Dan Kelly (hamstring), Massimo Luongo (knee) and Will Smallbone (hamstring).
